Church, let us remember to reach out to
our brothers and sisters who (for whatever reason)
are not currently attending worship on a
regular basis. God’s question to Cain in Genesis 4:9
“...where is your brother...?” stands as a perpetual
reminder in every generation that we are our
brother’s keeper. Therefore, let us take the time to:
call, visit, text, email, and pray for those who need
a word of encouragement. And remember — that for
the grace of God, it could be you
in need of encouragement (Gal. 6:1–2).

EDUCATION MINISTRY
The Adult Education Class is studying a single principle, the command to “consider one another,” and demonstrate thirteen ways you can apply it in
your daily life. Each month one of the self-assessments will be included in the weekly bulletin.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. Hebrews 10:24
~Adapted from Consider One Another by Aubrey Johnson
NOVEMBER Self-Assessment (Answer YES or NO)
Be Kind
1. Do I believe in the practical benefits of behaving kindly? 2. Do I remember that kindness fulfills the purpose for which
God made me? 3. Do I practice acting swiftly on impulses to show kindness
(so I don’t forget)? 4. Do I use kindness to say “thank You” to God for His kindness? 5. Do I recall how good it feels after I show someone kindness?
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order,
confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”
~Melody Beattie

Why Go to Church?
Is it a waste of time? A churchgoer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. “I’ve gone for 30 years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the preachers are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.”
This started a weeklong controversy in the column. It went on until someone wrote this clincher:
“I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time, my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this – they all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today”!
~Author Unknown House to House, Heart to Heart
“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
“Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together . . .” (Acts 20:7)
