Research: CERVIE at UCSI· Centre of Excellence for Research, Value Innovation and Entrepreneurship was
established in Dec 2009 with the Vision to be recognised as a broad based University
that actively engaged in innovative research contribution and entrepreneurial activities.
• Grant: RM4.8Million in 2011• UCSI University BizPlan Competition winners from 2010 competition are preparing to enter
the global PolyU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Student Challenge in Hong Kong this
year with their energy-harvesting device designed to conserve and convert waste energy into electrical energy to recharge smart phones.
• Another group of our young entrepreneurs recently took a silver award as well as the Eco-Business Innovation Award at the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards for an invention that cultivates mushrooms using coffee waste.
• And the university’s Faculty of Management and Information Technology recently launched
its new research and development lab, strictly dedicated to the research of “green”
technology.
• Faculty of Hospitality and Management, secured RM80k to research on
Eco-Hospitality concepts and application
