Leaning Tower of Pisa

Built next two levels on curve, didn’t work, leaned even more 1372 the tower was completed (approximately 200 years later) Tower leans due to sandy soil, foundation is not deep Many commissions to deal with the lean such as injecting concrete under the tower to freeze the soil, bracing the tower with cables and removing soil from under part of the foundation It is interesting that no one wants to completely straighten the tower due to cultural history and tourism The entire Cathedral Square where the tower is located was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987
