Change your entire college experience? Seems like a pretty lofty statement, right? Well we mean it when we say it!
LEAP, which stands for Leadership Education and Advising Program, is a themed living community. Students in the LEAP program will live on the Leadership/LEAP floor in Central Campus Residence Hall during their first year. These students will go through leadership development Programs and Attend events designated to support them in their transition to college. In addition, each LEAP student will be carefully matched with a peer mentor who will also assist them during their transition to our campus and to become active in the UAH community.
The LEAP Experience - get a headstart on your college career by Participating in thiis engaging and educational experience. Students will participate in serve learning and leadership programs with fellow first year students and upperclass student leaders. In additional to meeting over 100 new people, students will even receive their own leap peer mentor!
*Full participation in the LEAP Experience is required for LEAP students*
Destination Unknown - This event occurs once a semester and is an absolute favorite! Student sign up to attend destination unknown, but are only given the time and day of the event. The other details are a mystery, but we promise it will be a blast!
In-Hall Programming - With a theme of Leadership and Transition, the LEAP RAs and Interns will put on Fun and educational programs that will asssit the LEAP students to not only grow comfortable with the campus, but also develop their leadership style.
How Do I sign Up?Joining LEAP is simple! When you fill out your housing application just
preference the Leadership/LEAP community. Didn’t do that? It’s okay -
just contact [email protected] to ask for it to be added.
