Juniors OptionsJuniors study for 90 minutes each day choosing between the three schedules below. You’ll study the same timeeach day, giving you a chance to get to know your classmates.

General English classes focus on speaking practice and building your vocabulary.

The Cambridge Exam preparation classes will help build exam skills and cover key topics for the KET, PET and First Certificate exams.

Nadine has a degree in Italian and is a DELTA qualified English teacher. She’s been teaching at Select English for the last 8 years.Nadine likes the friendly, caring atmosphere at Select English and enjoys the opportunity to meet students from all around the world. Nadine has been Director of Studies at Select English since January 2018.

Andy is Senior Teacher at Select English and holds the DELTA qualification. He studied Graphic Design at Leeds Metropolitan University, before joining Select English in 2010. Andy likes working at Select because thereis always a friendly atmosphere with supportive colleagues.

Richard has a degree in Engineering and has taught English in Asia for 9 years. He’s been teaching at Select since the beginning of 2015. As well as the teaching he enjoys the social activities at the school, especially playing football with the students. In his spare time he loves to play squash and cycle. Richard is currently studying for his DELTA.

Dan studied Sociology at the University of Derby, before spending a year travelling Australia. Once gaining his CELTA qualification, he spent a year teaching in the North of Spain. Dan joined Select English as a Teacher in 2017.Dan enjoys working at Select because of the friendly nature of the school and being able to teach students from all around the world.

Is it easy to log into the system to start my online class?Yes – once you sign up for one of our online courses, you’ll receive a link in an email sent by us to your email address; you open that link and start your class. All you need is a reliable internet connection, your computer or phone and a suitable place in which to sit during your class.Log on 15 minutes before your first class. Someone from Select English will be online to help you if you have any problems.

Is the technology reliable?Our teachers and support staff have found the software platform that we use for our online teaching to be extremely reliable, and very easy to use for both teachers and students.

If I choose a group class, who will my classmates be?You can sign up to group classes together with friends or family, in which case you’ll know your classmates already. Alternatively, you can sign up on your own and you’ll be placed into a group with other students of a similar level and with similar objectives. The other students may be from anywhere else in the world!

How large are online group classes?We teach in groups of between three and eight students. In this way, we make sure that everyone has plenty of opportunity for speaking practice in each class. The platform allows students to work in small groups or pairs just as they would in a normal class, so everyone will participate actively in each class.

Can I choose an online class at a convenient time for me?Our 1-to-1 options are available at the time of choice for the student.Group classes are at fixed times so that we can organise groups easily, but we try to ensure that these are at the best times for our students around the world.

What if I don’t like my class / teacher?If you don’t want to continue after your first lesson, we’ll offer to change your teacher or to refund your course fees.

Do I need to buy a course book or other materials?All materials will be provided online by your teacher. There’s no need to buy a course book.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my one-to-one lesson?You’ll need to give 24hrs notice in order to reschedule a lesson. You can do this by contacting your teacher directly.
