1. From the FILE menu, select NEW, BLANK FILE or press the keyboard shortcutCMD/CTRL-N.

2. In the NEW dialog box, enter a NAMEWIDTH: 1600 pixelsHEIGHT: 1200 pixelsRESOLUTION: 300 pixels

3. Press OK.

4. From the WINDOW menu, selectColour Swatches.

5. Select a dark colour.

6. Press the X key on your keyboard to swap the Foreground and backgroundcolour palettes.

7. Select Black from the colour swatches.

8. Press the G key on your keyboard to select the GRADIENT tool.

9. If the TOOL options aren't visible, press the TOOL options button.

10. In the TOOL options select DEFAULT (top left icon) and LINEAR GRADIENT.

11. Drag a line from the top left to bottom right of the image.

12. If the LAYERS palette isn't visible, press the LAYERSpalette button.

13. Press the T key on your keyboard to select the HORIZONTAL TYPE TOOL.

14. In the TOOL options, select a thick font from the list of FONTS,

15. Click on the picture and enter some TEXT.

16. Tick the GREEN CHECK when finished.

17. In the LAYERS palette, right-click the TEXT layer and select SIMPLIFY LAYER.

18. Press the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-T to activate the FREE TRANSFORM tool.

19. While holding down the CMD/CTRL key, drag the corner handles and skew the textuntil it looks 3D.

20. Tick the GREEN CHECK when finished or press the ENTER/RETURN key on thekeyboard.

21. From the COLOUR SWATCHES, select WHITE or another light colour.

22. Press the X key on your keyboard to swap the foreground and background colours.



23. From the COLOUR SWATCHES, select another light COLOUR.

24. Press the G key on your keyboard to select the GRADIENT tool.

25. In the LAYERS palette, hold down the CMD/CTRLkey while clicking on the TEXT layer.

The text will be selected and marked by marching ants.

26. Drag a line from the bottom right of the text to the topleft.

27. Press the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-D to desect and rid the marching ants.

28. Click the EFFECTS button on the lower right of the programme.

29. Select the STYLES tab and choose BEVELS from the dropdown box.

30. Double-click the SIMPLE EMBOSS icon.

31. Double-click fx on the right side of the TEXT layer.

32. In the STYLE SETTINGS dialog box, adjust the SIZE to 4 pixels.

33. Press the V key on your keyboard to select the MOVE tool.



34. On a PC press the CTRL-ALT and ↑ on a Mac, press CMD-OPT ↑ thirteen (13)times or until the text increases to the desired height.

35. In the LAYERS palette, right-click the top TEXT layer and select CLEAR LAYER STYLE.

36. To add a 3D logo to your image, open a PNG file with a transparent background.

37. Click the PHOTO BIN icon at the bottom left of the programme.

38. With the text image selected (highlighted in light blue), drag thelogo from the PHOTO BIN to the desired location on the text image.

39. Resize the logo to the desired size by dragging in on one of thecorner handles.

40. Tick the GREEN CHECK when the desired size is reached.

41. While holding down the CMD/CTRL key, drag the cornerhandles and skew the LOGO until it looks 3D.

42. Tick the GREEN CHECK when finished.



43. Click the LAYERS icon.

44. In the LAYERS palette, hold down the CMD/CTRL key whileclicking on the LOGO layer.

The LOGO will be selected and marked by marching ants.

45. Press the G key on your keyboard to select the GRADIENTtool.

46. Drag a line from the bottom right of the text to the top left.

45. Press the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-D to desect and rid the marching ants.

46. Click the EFFECTS button on the lower right of the programme.

47. Select the STYLES tab and choose BEVELS from the dropdown box.

48. Double-click the SIMPLE EMBOSS icon.

49. Double-click fx on the right side of the LOGO layer.

50. In the STYLE SETTINGS dialog box, adjust the SIZE to 4 pixels.

51. Press the V key on your keyboard to select the MOVE tool.
