Arrival me:  Swimmers should be present in the designated meeng area and ready to swim ve minutes prior to their class me.  Remind your swimmers to use the restroom before class.

Class Check‐in‐Procedure:  Upon entry into the building for each lesson, you and your swimmer(s) will check‐in at the Front Desk.  ALL MEMBERS must scan their card(s) and will receive a wristband.  On the rst day of class please stop at the swim lesson check‐in table.  Enrollment in the class permits admiance into the locker rooms, family changing rooms and aquac facili‐ty during the swimmer(s) scheduled class me, but does not permit open use of the pool(s), eld house, weight room or tness rooms.  Ask a Front Desk Aendant about Punch Passes

available for purchase for aer class swimming for Learn to Swim Sessions 1,2, 6 & 7.

Swim Diapers:  “Official” Swim Diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained.  Swimmers requiring a swim diaper must also wear a swim suit that fully covers the swim diaper.  Furthermore, diaper changing is not permied anywhere on the pool deck or in the meeng rooms.  Diaper changing must take place in the Family Changing Rooms or Locker Rooms; this is an Ohio State Code.

Locker Rooms:  Please dress swimmer(s) in the locker room, not in the pool area.  Out of re‐spect for all the members and guests, all children requiring the assistance of a parent or adult of the opposite gender should use the Family Changing Rooms located off the Lobby area.

Proper Swimming Are:  If your swimmer has longer hair we highly recommend he or she wear a swim cap or their hair ed back.  All swimmers must wear a proper swimming or bathing suit.  Proper swim suits are oen made from lycra, nylon or pol‐yester.  They are designed to be quick‐drying and do not drascally enlarge upon contact with moisture.  Swimmers are not permied to wear T‐shirts without Facility Management approv‐

al.

Goggles and Flotaon Devices:  One of the goals of lower level classes is to teach children how to be safe in water.  Allowing children to wear goggles or use otaon devices undermines their ability to perform survival skills.  Sub‐mersion of their face/eyes is a crical skill in developing proper breathing tech‐

niques as well as simply gaining maximum comfort in the water.  By allowing children to wear goggles or use otaon devices at an early level they become dependent, which can later in‐hibit their swimming abilies.  For these reasons, swimmers are strongly discouraged from wearing goggles prior to Level 3 and may not use otaon devices.

A Few Swim Lesson Reminders

Wai ng Area:  Parents of swimmers under 12 years must remain in the building at all mes.  Once checking in at the Front Desk has been completed, you may walk your swimmer(s) to the Back Meeng Room adjacent the Back Pool, where lessons take place.  There, the instructor will meet each class and take aendance before each lesson.  Non‐member parents and caregivers must re‐main in the Back Meeng Room for the duraon of lessons.  Parents and caregivers are permied to be present on the Back Pool Deck to observe their swimmer’s progress on the rst (1st) and last(6th) day of lessons only.  The Splash Pad will remain closed during lessons in order to keep distrac‐ons to a minimum for opmal learning.

Addi onal Prac ce Time:  If swimmers would like to come earlier or stay later than their designated class me, Daily Admission Passes and memberships are available at the Front Desk and can be purchased at any me.  Swimmers must have a wristband.

Absence:  All classes have specic student:teacher raos that ensure quality instrucon and a safe learning environment for your swimmer.  Due to safety concerns, make‐up classes are not availa‐ble during another class’s scheduled me.  Addionally, Splash Zone does not offer private make‐up lessons.

Rain/Safety Days:  In the event of inclement weather, alternave measures will be taken so as to avoid class cancellaon.  Should an enre class be cancelled due to inclement weather, a make‐up class will be scheduled.  Should an enre session be cancelled due to inclement weather, refunds will be issues.  If you are uncertain if classes will be held because of potenally bad weather please call The Splash Zone 440‐774‐5059.

Refunds:  Refunds will only be issued up to 5 days prior to the start of the rst day.  All refund re‐quests less than 5 days prior to the rst day require a valid medical excuse and Facility Manage‐ment approval.  Refund requests are addressed on a case by case basis.

Health and Hygiene:  The chlorine and pH levels in the Splash Zone are constantly checked by au‐tomated chemical controllers and manually by aquac staff.  The Splash Zone fol‐lows all guidelines established by the Lorain County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevenon.  How‐ever, please remind your swimmer(s) to use the restroom before entering the wa‐ter and to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.  Do not allow your swim‐mer(s) to enter the water if he or she is suffering from an illness that causes diar‐rhea, or has had diarrhea in the last week.  Do not allow your swimmer(s) to enter the water if he or she carries an open wound, lesions or contagious rash.

Lastly, we’d like your swimmer(s) to have a safe and wonderful experience!!

Learn to Swim Course Descriptions Parent & Child Level I Ages 6 months - 3 years

Parent and Child Swim Lessons introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents are taught to safely and appropriately hold their child in the water, while preparing and encouraging their child to participate fully and try the skills. Water safety topics are also introduced and directed to parents. These basic skills will lay the foundation to help them learn to swim in the future.

Parent & Child Level 2 Ages 6 months - 3 years

Participants improve on skills from Parent and Child Swim Level 1 and learn more advanced skills to prepare them for Preschool Swim Lessons. Three year olds ready to learn without a parent or caregiver should enroll in Preschool Swim Lessons.

Preschool Level I Ages 3 - 5 years

Helps participants feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water. Participants learn elementary aquatic skills such as underwater exploration while opening eyes, blowing bubbles and floating with assistance. Participants start developing good attitudes and safe practices around the water.

Preschool Level 2 Ages 3 - 5 years

Participants must be able to perform the exit skills for Preschool Swim Level 1. In Preschool Level 2, participants are going under the water completely while blowing bubbles out of their mouth and nose. Participants learn to float without support and how to recover to a vertical position. This level marks the beginning of true locomotive skills while building on the skills already learned.

Preschool Level 3 Ages 3 -5 years

Must have completed exit skills in Preschool 2 Swim Lessons. While building on skills learned in Preschool 2, participants begin to learn how to effectively coordinate combined simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions. Preschool Level 3 lets participants master being able to perform skills without assistance.

Preschool Level 4 Ages 3-5 years

Must have completed exit skills in Preschool 3 Swim Lessons. While building on skills learned in Preschool 3, participants learn to effectively coordinate simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions. Concentrating on rotary breathing, front crawl and elementary backstroke.

LTS Level 3 Stroke Development Ages 6 - 13 years

While building on skills learned in Level 2, participants learn to effectively coordinate combined simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions. This level lets participants master being able to perform skills without assistance. Learn survival float, elementary backstroke and coordination of the front crawl.

LTS Level 4 Stroke Improvement Ages 6 - 13 years
