Fall Semester 2001• Explored the theory and practice of using

computers to assist writing instruction

• Read widely in the field of Computer Writing Instruction

• Used Daedalus and Connect Web, two CWI programs, and discussed the best and worst points of each.

• Learned how to use our computers in a class conducted by Peter Terry.

Our Conclusions

• Daedalus and Connect Web would be good to use in classrooms to help in composition and editing of papers.

• There are various programs that could be used and explored further such as MOOs and MUDs that seem interesting and worthwhile

What Peter Taught Us:

• When making a present ation, be sure that everyone can see what you are writing

• When using graphics, make sure they aren’t too busy or unclear.

• Don’t do what we just did!

                                           

Spring Semester 2002

• Each took a class from Professor Gundy and ‘adopted’ it.

• We worked towards compiling the online information generated by each class and using this as an aid for the students.

• We created a website that showed our work up to this point, including all our responses from last semester and our web pages from this semester.

Conclusion

• Computers can be used in the classroom in various ways through online discussion, journals, or teaching aids.

• Computers should be included in the classroom because they are a helpful tool.
