Here at Manchester Central School of English we encourage autonomous learning and self-study through regular homework and individual research projects.

General English
One to oneOur one-to one classes highlight an individual’s areas for improvement and provide opportunity to work on personal needs. An individual learn-ing plan is negotiated between the teacher and student, ensuring that the students’ needs and requirements are met.
Our General English courses provide you with the confidence and skills you need to communicate effectively in English.From beginner to advanced, these classes are aimed at improving students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening using a communicative approach.
One-to-one options are also available and can be added to your main programme or taken on their own.*
Who is it for?The General English courses we provide at MCSE are designed for students who want to improve their level of English. This could be students who want to broaden their job prospects, progress on to an exam preparation course such as IELTS, FCE, CAE or just to help in day to day situations both here and in other English speaking countries.
All the teachers here are very good at teaching and they are lovely. I learnt a lot of things here, so I say thank you to everybody.

English for Business15 or hours of tailored business classes, led by experienced teachers - aimed at providing students with the skills they need to work effectively in an English-speaking business environment.
Students need to have a minimum level of A2+ to join our English for Business courses. They are taught by experienced tutors and provide students with skills such as negotiating and how to express yourself in a meeting, in order to feel confident using English in a business environment.
Our Business English courses are designed to help you communicate more effectively in the internation-al marketplace, covering topics such as how to make a presentation in English, problem-solving, negotiation and taking part in meetings.

CELTA - Teacher TrainingThe Manchester Central School of English Cambridge CELTA course is designed to test all aspects of your teaching, combining 120 hours of contact time with over 80 hours of individual learning. The course comprises the following core elements:

MCSE offers 4 week intensive, full-time course and an 11 week online course qualifying students to teach English as a Foreign Language.
We have chosen on-campus accommodation for our juniors so our parents have peace of mind that their little ones will be staying in a safe and secure environment. In our fantastic accommodation, there is a cinema room and games room with a pool table, for our juniors to access for free always.Package includes:

We want to make your first days with us as smooth as possible. We can arrange a pick up to take you from the airport to your accommo-dation on your arrival in England and welcome you to Manchester.

ResidenceOur halls of residence are very close to the city centre and they provide an opportunity to mix with interesting and enthusiastic students from around the world. You will normally have a private bedroom in an apartment which you share with a number of other students. Some halls have private bath-rooms whilst others have shared facilities. There will be other shared amenities such as kitchens and common rooms. In every halls of residence students have access to 24/7 assistance from on-site staff.
Homestay
Our Homestay Hosts are inspected to British Council standards so whoever you live with, you can be sure that you will be treated as a member of the family, sharing meals and common living areas with them. There will be no more than four students accommodated in homestay accommodation at any one time. You can choose your meal plan from these options: Half-board, Half-
board with special diet, or Self-catering.
Homestay for under 18's is provided by an external agency.
