zioxi designs and manufactures furniture to support and inspire learning. We enjoy solving problems through design with inspiring products integrated into practical and stunning room layouts.

We believe that classrooms should be places where students want to learn and we are lucky enough to work with some amazing teachers to create wonderful environments for their students. Take a look at our Case Studies on pages 140-155.

There are some great new products in this years catalogue to

on glides, not castors? We want your

order, your delivery and your installation to

be right first time. That’s where our sales

support and scheduling teams come in.

They will calmly guide you through the

process (and make sure you don’t order

school and its location to work out the

best way to deliver and the best time to

install your furniture.

Our furniture doesn’t simply roll off the

end of a machine. It’s a fundamental part

of zioxi quality that our unique designs are

assembled by our highly skilled production

team. We use quality components and

materials which, when combined with the

care and attention of our assembly team,

create a product that is a cut above in terms

of quality.

06TEST

Build quality is paramount. We use materials

and manufacturing processes that ensure our

furniture can withstand the inevitable knocks

and scuffs of school life, while retaining its

good looks. Welding, rather than crush-bend-

ing, is robust and looks better. Alloy inserts

make joins ultra-strong and means the screws

will stay put. Compact laminate, which most

of our table tops are made of, is one solid

piece so the edges won’t peel off your tables.

It’s this attention to detail that makes all the

difference.

Our installation team are all fully trained

zioxi employees. We don’t rely on third

parties to deliver our furniture (unless

it’s a single item and you’ll know exactly

what to do with it) and we don’t just

leave it in reception for your caretaker

to deal with. We unload, unpack,

install, make sure everything’s working,

show you how to use it, clear away the

packaging, sweep up and – once we’ve

seen the smiles and you’re happy – only

then do we leave.

Scientia Academy

This spacious and unique school building was designed to incorporate curves instead of straight lines. The brief was to create furniture that could be used in original and innovative ways by teachers, yet also be used in the traditional manner to meet classroom requirements. Furniture that complemented the curved walls and open spaces and was welcoming as well as intriguing to children.

IT Suite: The Head Teacher at Scientia Academy had an incredible vision to create a IT space that utilises the central hub of the school. zioxi worked with Yateen to create a bespoke curved area with fixed IT benching and adjustable touch screen monitors. To add the finishing touch, large screens were installed at each end that rise up at the touch of a button – just magic!

When Head Teacher Tom Rees started his new role at Simon De Senlis Primary, he had big ideas about how he wanted to develop the school to its full potential.

A key part of this development was to create inspiring learning spaces for both the children and the teachers. The old furniture in the

school was uninspiring, tired and mismatched, leading to a lack of pride from the teachers and children. The classrooms were messy, cluttered and unloved.

Tom started a project to turn the school around called “Simon de Senlis Reimagined” using a collaborative process to create a vision for the school. A really important part of this was the learning environment. The group decided they wanted a look that was clean, contemporary, de-cluttered and flexible in order to complement their strategy to create “curious, industrious, agile learners that go on to make a dent in the universe.”

Jesmond Gardens Primary School

If you visit Jesmond Gardens and find what looks like the corpse of one of Henry VIII’s wives on the floor, don’t worry, it’s just one of the ways the teachers there make learning truly exciting and inspiring for their students. The school has nine class bases, each with

mobile, agile furniture so the layout can be changed easily. The furniture in each class base is the same but they all look and feel completely different because the teachers have been able to create the learning space that best suits their year group. With quiet areas, snugs, a wet bay and library the school is designed to deliver truly personalised, independent learning that also takes advantage of the best that ICT has to offer.

The heart of the school has vibrant soft furnishings where students can work in groups or meet up socially, creating another flexible space that can accommodate a range of uses.

zioxi were thrilled to work with Reading College to refresh their wonderful Library space. The brief was to create a space that was bright and welcoming with lots of places for the students to work. To fit in the number of students required zioxi made the best use of the space with bespoke benching

around the pillars and along the edges for individual working. In the collaborative working area interlocking Lunar tables make the area really flexible, allowing different table configurations and layouts.

Breakout areas with soft seating were added for those that wanted to learn in a more relaxing environment and the librarians had a new bespoke reception counter that they just love! In the words of Reading College , “We really did get our moon on a stick.”

Earl Spencer Primary School

The school wanted a modern look for their new classrooms with furniture that allowed the spaces to be easily reconfigured for different lessons.

zioxi designed eight of the new build classrooms, for years 3-6. Included in our designs were zioxi TeacherWalls® - with individual tray storage for each student and t41

tables allowing the school total flexibility for arranging the classrooms depending on the lessons taking place.

The classrooms are finished with a Reading Nook. The Reading Nooks are neatly tucked away in the corners of the rooms and provide a perfect place for one-to-one or group reading or as a comfortable area for listening to audio books.

The school selected a range of vibrant colours to match the school brand. The finished classrooms look amazing and compliment the new building perfectly.

zioxi worked alongside Barnard Grove Primary School, Hartlepool, to develop a bright, engaging learning environment for their new £2.8m build providing places for 315 pupils and a 26-place nursery.

From the outset, the schools’ vision was to create classroom spaces that were flexible, maximise storage space wherever possible and to create an LRC space which would become the ‘heart’ of the school.

In corridor spaces our CubeWall system provides the students with coat and bag storage with upholstered benching as a place for them to change their shoes.

In the LRC, the school was keen to create little ‘nook’ spaces. The curves of the BookWorm® work perfectly to provide quieter zones where students can work or read. The flexible furniture solution was continued in the breakout areas with s41 seating arranged in circles and waves.

In the classroom spaces, t41 tables alongside zioxi T Chairs allows Barnard Grove the ability to create agile, adaptable classrooms, breakout spaces and learning environments.

zioxi were delighted to work with Denbigh Primary School in Luton to furnish their Learning Resource Centre and Infant Library.

The brief from the school was to create learning areas that were fun and exciting, which the children would want to use. The school wanted the LRC to have the ‘Wow Factor’.

Renamed as “The Hive” the LRC/ICT Suite needed to be divided into two areas, a large space for 30 computers and a large area for reading and project work.

zioxi designed the space to include a large curvy BookWorm® which divided the space into two. With a walk through bridge both learning zones are now easily integrated.

Meanwhile the Infant Library ‘The Burrow’ was designed with flexible solutions to allow the space to be reconfigured or cleared for a range of activities.
