Learning Management Systems in SAISDIn SAISD, we are committed to giving our students, family, and communi-ty the best education eperience possible. With that goal in mind, the world of Online Learning and Learning Management Systems are playing a more dominant role in how we educate students in SAISD.

In our district, we have chosen two different LMS (Learning Management Systems) to meet the needs of our community. In choosing these LMSs, we took into acount factors like ease of use, scalability, and feature sets. The department of Instructional Technology and Learning Services conducted extensive research on LMSs available to the district. In the end, two systems were found that met the needs of SAISD: Edmodo (Elementary Campuses) and Schoology (Secondary Campuses). This guide will show some of the features in each LMS and give you a basic understand of how the service works and how it fits in to the learning objectives in SAISD.

How to Sign up as a Parent1. Obtain the unique 6-digit Parent Code from your child’s account (Note: this is not the same as your child’s Group Code).

• Each child has a different Parent Code. Find your child’s unique Parent Code in these ways:

- Have your child log into his/her Student Account and scroll down on the homepage. The Parent Code is located at the bottom of the left panel.

- Alternatively, your child’s teacher can provide you with your unique Parent Code.

2. Go to www.edmodo.com on a web browser (Note: you cannot create a Parent Account on the Edmodo mobile app).

3. Click the “I’m a Parent” button and �ll in the required information.

Parent Sign-Up GuideSigning up for an Edmodo Parent Account is a great way to stay up to date aboutyour child’s classroom activity, such as assignments, grades, and school events.

Once you create a Parent Account, there is never a need to create a new account.You will use the same account year after year. As your child joins new classes/groups,

your account will be updated to re�ect these changes.

Add Multiple Children to Your One Parent Account1. Log into your existing Parent Account at www.edmodo.com.

2. Click “Add a Student” at the top of the page.

3. Enter the unique Parent Code for your additional child.
