The Laws of Reflection

1. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.

2. The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal all lie in the same plane.

A. Specular Reflection– The reflection of light off a smooth, shiny

surface– Reflected rays will all be parallel to each

other.

irregular or dull surface.

Mini Golf and the Laws of Reflection

Your task is to draw a mini-golf hole layout which you will then use to illustrate the laws of reflection. To be included in your drawing is:

- At least one obstacle

- At least two 90 degree turn: 2 corners

- Tee box and a distinct hole

Your drawing must show 2 different strategies for getting the ball in the hole.

One of your strategies must use the minimum number of reflections.

All incident and reflected rays must be shown, as well as normals, and angles of both incidence and reflection.
