Baby Diapers: learning the diapering

basics at home

• You’ve survived nine months of pregnancy.

• You’ve made it through the excitement of labour and delivery, and now you’re ready to head home and begin life with your baby.

• Once you get home, you frantically realize that you have no idea what you’re doing.

• New parents often have doubts with what exactly is their baby in need of.

• These tips can help even the most nervous first-time parents and make them feel confident within no time.

Diapering your baby:

• It is essential to find the right kind of diaper for your infant’s sensitive skin.

• New parents spend a lot of time diapering their baby.

• Can find varieties of diapers online.

• It might seem complicated at first, but with a little bit of practice, you will know that keeping your baby high and dry is easy.

Dressing your child:

• Babies are often overdressed for the first trip home.

• Dress your baby as you would dress yourself.

• The health of your child is of the utmost importance.

• So, if you'd be too warm in a knitted hat during the summer, your baby probably will be, too.

• Sometimes, quality matters more than just the brand name.

• If you are looking for baby diapers, make sure you count them in for the quality of the cloth and material used in the making.

Wiping:• Using the wet washcloth, cotton balls, or baby wipes, gently wipe your

baby clean from the front to the back (never wipe from back to front, especially on girls, or you could spread the bacteria that can cause urinary tract infection).

• You might want to lift your baby's legs by the ankles to get a better reach.

• Don't forget the creases in the thighs and buttocks.

• Once you've finished wiping, pat your baby dry with a clean washcloth and apply diaper ointment.

• You will find good quality baby diapers at a local super market or chemist store at reasonable price.

Using Disposable diapers:

• While using disposable diapers, bring the front part of the diaper up between your baby's legs and onto his or her belly.

• Bring the adhesive strips around and fasten snugly. Be careful not to stick the tape onto your baby's skin.

• Always wash your hands well after changing diapers to keep away from spreading germs.

• If you use cloth diapers, wash them in dye- and fragrance-free detergents, and avoid drying them with scented drying sheets.

• With the extra care you take for your baby’s health and wellbeing, you have now turned out to be good with the baby basics and once you have these basics down, you’ll be a pro within no time.
