Learning Through Technology Showcase Tablet Academy Scotland and Intel are partnering to bring you a range of inspiring workshops and showcase presentations in the Learning Through Technology Showcase area at SLF, 23-24 September 2015.

They all take place at the Learning Through Technology showcase area, located across from J135. It’s also right next to the café!

Flipping the classroom with the resources you've already developed– Office Mix will save you time.

Office Mix is a new way to tell your story with voice, video, inking, screen-recording and interactive magic. It allows you to take your existing Powerpoint presentations and create video files with inter-active activities that your students can engage with through any web browser. Perfect for flipping the classroom. 10:30-11:00

School Glow Showcase- Beith Primary School, North Ayrshire – Using Glow Blogs for 1+2 languages learning.

Beith Primary have created a 1+2 Language Hub website using Glow Blogs, powered by Word-

Press. Hear the pupils from the school talk about what they have been doing with writing scripts, languages podcasting and publishing to their Language Hub blog.

Digital Ninja from P7 at Redwell School in Clackmannanshire, Evan Skelhorn, explains how to get started with iMovie for learning and why it is a key app for the YouTube generation. Evan's workshop will take users through how to start using iMovie in the classroom and reveal his enthusiasm for digital movie-making. 11:30-12:00

Connecting physical and digital learning in a STEM context and getting started with code with our robot friends, Dash and Dot.

It’s a big world out there, and Dash & Dot are ready to help you explore. Program them to squeal when you pick them up, navigate around sharp corners, or be on the lookout for approaching siblings or pets. Explore how iPads, coding and robots can make for powerful, engaging and excit-ing learning. 12:30-13:00

School Glow Showcase- St Bernadettes Primary School, Falkirk – Digital Leaders success study. St Bernadette’s Primary has 8 classes and a Digital Leader was assigned to each class. They are responsible for trouble-shooting and teaching classes through a skills based approach. There is a poster with a hotline number in each class! Come along and hear the Digital Leaders representatives share their experiences.

Clackmannanshire Schools' Support Service supports primary and secondary learners with a variety of additional support needs. With the support of Tablet Academy Scotland they have embedded technology at the heart of learning to engage successfully the most disengaged of learners. If you want to hear how they achieved this, come along and take part in this hands on session where we will explore some key apps that have had a real impact on learning. 13:30-14:00

LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Workshop

In this workshop you will use LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 to build a robotics model contain-ing motors and sensors, and bring it to life with the icon-based graphical programming software. EV3 enables you to ignite student engagement and energise learning through real-life problem solving in the subject areas of Computing, Science, Design & Technology, Engineering and Maths. What to expect:

The session is designed to provide a hands-on experience through a real-life curriculum challenge whilst also encouraging collaborative working, critical thinking and problem solving. You will find out how the LEGO Education resources are designed to achieve the best learning outcome, while encouraging the teachers role as a facilitator.

This is a great session for delegates interested in exploring different devices. Karan from Intel's Education team will be on stand with a stock of various different Intel-powered tablets, Chromebooks and 2 in 1 devices. The Digital Learning Community aims to bring together all those who have an interest in the ways in which digital technology can support, enhance and improve learning and teaching. Developed by Education Scotland and Scottish Government, the Community exists to drive change in schools by embracing the use of digital technology. Join us find out more about the site and get a chance to ask questions and explore how the community will work. 11:00-11:30

Come along and hear from Dunoon Primary School’s Pro-Gamers team of three eleven- and twelve-year-olds – Olivia Robertson, Lewis MacKay and Aidan Purdie. The team fought off challeng-es from schools across Scotland to win the Scottish Microsoft ‘Kodu Kup’. The team wowed the judges with their exciting game Rural Racers, created from scratch, and impressed them with a business case, marketing plan and promotional goods.

Come along and hear from Dunoon Primary School’s Pro-Gamers team of three eleven- and twelve-year-olds – Olivia Robertson, Lewis MacKay and Aidan Purdie. The team fought off challeng-es from schools across Scotland to win the Scottish Microsoft ‘Kodu Kup’. The team wowed the judges with their exciting game Rural Racers, created from scratch, and impressed them with a business case, marketing plan and promotional goods.

It’s a big world out there, and Dash & Dot are ready to help you explore. In this workshop you will use LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 to build a robotics model contain-ing motors and sensors, and bring it to life with the icon-based graphical programming software. EV3 enables you to ignite student engagement and energise learning through real-life problem solving in the subject areas of Computing, Science, Design & Technology, Engineering and Maths. What to expect:
