2011 Alumni Day, June 11th •
Parade Theme: Board Games
President’s Message 2011
Dear Fellow Alumni,
I would like to let you all know that I am still honored to
have been elected Alumni Association President for
2010-2011.
Many of the changes we made went very well, some
were not well visited, but we, as a board, thought it
would be good to keep them for this year again.
Hopefully Mother Nature will be a little more
cooperative with some sunshine.
We are hoping to keep Saturday, June 11th, dedicated to
Alumni Day/Family day. In the park there will be a food
tent, kid‟s corner, and a bigger Memory Lane which was
a huge hit for many alumni and families.
The anniversary years are those ending in 1‟s and 6‟s, so
if it‟s your anniversary, please try to plan Saturday, June
11th, as an Alumni Day in the park. Last year there was
some confusion about the tents. Please provide an easy-
up tent (no larger than 10‟ x 12‟) and lawn chairs for
your class to have in the park (there will be designated
areas for classes). Please plan your private class
gatherings for Friday night or Sunday. We need to unite
as alumni to keep our traditions going. The Marion
Carter House will be available for a quiet place to gather
and chat (12 pm to 2 pm).
We have brought our evening festivities back to New
Hampshire. Last year we had a great time and lots of
participation at the Lebanon Elks. We no longer have the
banquet but will have a brief business meeting before the
dance. Our DJ will once again be DJ-FLANZ.
Many of our younger Alumni think they cannot join in
the fun because they cannot drink. Our event is for all
Alumni, regardless of age. We will check IDs and give
bracelets to folks over 21, identifying them as able to
have alcohol. Feel free to come join some LHS fun.
Our parade route is the old route. Remember, if you‟re
an alumni float builder, please take all debris from the
parking lot with you. Please don‟t forget your truck
drivers! They do so much for you and without them we
would not have a successful parade.
The park is the place to be on Alumni Day, Saturday,
June 11th. There will be many fun activities for all. Don‟t
forget to stop by the Alumni Association tent to pay
your dues and update your information. If you have an
email address we would like that as well. Also, don‟t
forget to pick-up a t-shirt, sweatshirt - or pick up a
yearbook from the past.
Please become an active Alumni Association member
and let this wonderful tradition carry on. Hey, Class of
2011, we want to see great things from you this year.
Let‟s have fun, good ol‟ LHS fun!
This year we regretfully accepted the resignation of our
treasurer and fellow board member, Sharon Griggs
Cantlin. For many years Sharon has maintained the
alumni database and has been the person who has kept
track of the alumni donations and the obituaries every
year. Her contributions to the Lebanon High School
Alumni Association Board shall be sorely missed.
Thank you very much and hope to see you Saturday,
June11th!
Respectfully,
Dianne Moodie Grant, Class of 1969

THE CLASS OF 1980 KEEPS UP THE TRADITION
OF CREATING A FLOAT FOR ALUMNI DAY
The class of 1980 gathers in March to begin the process
of building a float for the Lebanon High School Alumni
Day held in mid-June. Generally our float making
sessions start out with a core group of classmates and the
group gets larger at each gathering as word gets out
about the float we are creating. Luckily, the class of
1980 is made up of very creative people. Often we have
too many great ideas and have to cut back on our plans.
We work on a tight budget but we go to outside
resources when necessary. Classmates meet about every
other week from March through April. The n we meet
weekly as the deadline approaches. It is great to connect
with classmates that you do not see at any other time. It
is not a lot of work because we start early and we have a
lot of classmates helping out. For our classmates that
live further away, we keep them posted with pictures and
updates until they come into town for Alumni Day. The
alumni float is a great tradition that we will continue for
a long time.
Leann Cushman, Class of 1980
This is an open letter to my fellow alumni of Lebanon
High School:
All of us have been blessed with special memories
of our Alumni Reunions. We all have the wonderful
pleasure of sharing the little tidbits that stay with us
throughout the years. That day was unique and I want to
share with you one of the moments that I will always
remember of last year's alumni reunion. The parade was
a blast, even in the rain, and what I most remember is the
warmth of meeting and seeing many of our alumni
friends that damp afternoon in Colburn Park after the
parade. Having the park to ourselves with the tents and
food and to roam around seeing old friends, well let me
tell you, warmed up my afternoon after having fun,
yes in the rain. I stood on a flat-bed trailer with my
class and saw so many friends and neighbors along the
parade route who braved the weather just to see the
parade. You knew they had as much fun as you did. I'd
say that something special had just happened that
day and you were a part of it. Jiminy, and yes, deep
down inside, you knew it was special and you had fun
didn't ya?
So let's make some memories together at this year's
Alumni Day Reunion and discover the secret of how
they are made, right here, every June.
Thomas Mulherin, Class of 1965
Dear Alumni Association,
On behalf of the Class of 1965, we want everyone
to know that we celebrated our 45th reunion this past
summer. We had wonderful class participation. We
clearly enjoy getting together every five (5) years. This
year, we had a tent in the park and many came by after
the parade. The weather was rainy and cold, but many
brave souls came and socialized. Later, we attended the
dance and we learned that we came in 2nd for our float
"Archie"! We didn't have a banquet this year but the
Alumni set up food and drink after the parade.
Marge Decato, Class of 1965
“Address Alert” When you tell your classmates you received this
newsletter do they gasp and ask where theirs is? Not
surprising since we are either missing or have incorrect
addresses for well over 3,000 alumni. There are several
ways to update your address and contact information
with us. Each year 10-15% of the newsletters we send
out are returned because of an incorrect address. Help us
keep in touch with alumni! Please stop by and update!

LEBANON HIGH SCHOOL
ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
To continue to make the scholarship a reality,
your tax free contributions are needed. (Tax ID
# is 30-0474615). Please fill out the donation
form and send it with your check made payable
to LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund.
You also can donate through our website:
http://www.lebnhalumni.com/giving.html .
Our goal this year is to raise $3,000 getting us
to the next interest level!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Currently the scholarship is awarded in the
amount of $1,000 per year to a graduating
student whose parent or parents attended
Lebanon High School. One student will
receive $1,000 each year that s/he attends
school for a maximum of four years.
Hopefully, this amount will increase as
donations increase. The scholarship is awarded
on Senior Awards night by the scholarship
chair. Additionally, a plaque is kept at the high
school with the names of the recipients.
The 2010 recipient was Katie Minard. Katie
is going to Emerson College and is majoring in
marketing and commu-nications. Katie Minard
'10, is the daughter of James '84 and Diane
Mitchell Minard '78, and granddaughter of Ted
'55 and Jackie Dulac Minard '58, and Madeline
Stockwell, and great granddaughter of Lillian
Marcotte Dulac '34, all of whom are LHS
Alumni.
Your support is appreciated.

Parade Report 2010 Comic Strips
Parade day began early with a light rain which
continued up until the parade started at noon. That
didn‟t stop everyone from having fun! As the floats
began lining up in the parking lot, the class members
came along full of enthusiasm and smiles. It was clear
that one and all were there to have a good time.
We want to thank the Lebanon Police Department, the
Lebanon Fire Department, the American Legion Post
#22‟s Honor Guard, the American Red Cross and the
Lebanon High School band. These groups participate
year after year and for which are
grateful! We also want to say thank
you to the Carter Community
Building Association for allowing the
band members to wait in their lobby
in order to keep their instruments dry
for as long as possible.
A big Thank You is also sent out to all of the truck
drivers and companies that supplied the trailers. Year
after year, you are always there for us.
Our Alumni banner carriers were: Madison Tilton,
Rachael Townsend and Emily Kruger. Thank you
girls for marching through the puddles for us!
Our parade marshal was Linda Preston, the athletic
director at the Lebanon Junior High School and a
member of the Class of 1970. Many of you know
Linda and know that she is a wonderful person and a
great role model for all. Has anyone ever seen her
without a smile on her face or without a positive word
to share? Thank you, Linda!
We had 9 classes participate in this year‟s parade,
with 7 of them being judged. To the Class of „60, you
had a great last minute showing with your antique fire
truck loaded with class members.
Talking about the last minute, congratulations to the
Class of „95 who put everything together Friday night.
To the Class of 2000, it was good to see some of you
out there with your signs and smiles. We hope 2015
will be a better year for you all.
Our judges loved all of the floats. Some of their
comments were: very creative; great enthusiasm and
good spirit! The costumes - many hand made - were
awesome. The floats being judged were: 1955
Superman, 1965 Archie, 1970 Hagar the Horrible,
1980 Peanuts, 1985 Popeye, 1995 Beetle Bailey and
2010 Lil Abner.
The top three to receive trophies were:
Third place - 1980 with Peanuts
Second place - 1965 with Archie
First place - 1970 with Hagar the
Horrible
Congratulations to everyone! We hope you all had
fun and we look forward to seeing you all back in
competition again in 2015!
Respectfully submitted,
Susan McBain „72
