led steer and prime beef sections
TRANSCRIPT
Beefing up the Ekka is Australia’s largest annual cattle competition.
At the very first show in 1876, there were just three breeds of beef cattle on display - Durham, Hereford and Devon.
Today, 30 breeds and around 1 ,600 head of cattle compete across the stud beef, led steer and prime beef sections.
The stud beef competition alone is the largest showing of stud beef in the Southern hemisphere.
The judging kicks off during Ekka Beef Week FROM Monday 6 August.
