Communicated with developers, business analysts, DBAs, and project managers to clarify design issues and requirements

Provided input for all major project test strategy Maintained the correct functionality of the existing code base Final approvals for all B2B test system and production code deployments and leadership on

Trained new test team members and familiarized new non-test B2B members with the B2B group’s code deployment process

Worked with automation teams to maintain/expand code coverage; provided scenarios and load % to performance team

Full system testing was encountered as a member of the B2B team. In addition to API (XML message) testing, this included extensive internal web-based applications for IHG business groups to maintain data involving B2B partners, system and individual server performance monitoring/adjusting, partner message monitoring and managing server clusters. Further testing includes gateway testing such as Akamai and Apache configurations and analyzing middleware layer and TPF mainframe messaging. Technologies that are part of thie system tested include IBM DataPower, Caucho Resin, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle,Apache ActiveMQ, IBM Websphere, Java, Servlet, JSP, JSTL, DHTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT.

Highlights: Test team member for Expedia/IHG business relationship. First B2B group project to use both

push and pull message technology. Transactional information for reservation and availability from a TPF system was fed to an ODS before sending XML messages via the B2B web service layer to Expedia (push messages). Reservations (pull messages) from Expedia pass through B2B to the TPF system. I was the B2B test engineer on the E2E testing. I added value when I showed I could uncover unusual cases that would fail within a set of messages being tested where almost all would pass by analyzing total message output for anomalies, in particular a binary string for days of the week.

B2B web service layer used to provide Pegasus and other business partners with hotel property details. Project allowed for automatic updating of partners from database editable cron jobs and on-demand requests for hotel data. In addition, a UI interface was developed to allow an IHG business group to customized message delivery on a client by client basis.

B2B Test Lead for IHG partnership with Venetian/Palazzo Resorts. Project allowed different backend systems to exchange data via B2B transaction layer using industry standard OTA specifications resulting in both hotel e-commerce partner sites allowing bookings at the other business’ properties. I was overall test lead/onsite representative in Las Vegas at the Venetian resort property along with IHG developer representative for final tests/product launch.

As Test Lead for the B2B group, I co-designed, developed and implemented a more robust automation suite for use during deployment cycles and production code releases. The testing utilized SoapUI to dynamically create XML requests from managed test data and saved and compared the XML responses against a known correct response. This test suite contributed to there being no code rollbacks following completed production deployment during my last 2+ years as Test Lead.

During transition from TPF to zTPF mainframe reservation system, used B2B release cycle automated tests to assure reservation, availability and reward club transactions. As a high priority project, I used the opportunity/available budget to increase business use cases, data parameters and negative scenarios of the existing test suite.

Software Test Engineer, 2/04 to 1/11Primary job responsibility was to work as a project tester under the leadership of a project manager. This entailed test case strategy and design, web interface or web service testing, defect tracking and deployment to production. 3 years of web e-commerce and client-server application testing were followed by 4 years of B2B/web service testing.

Web Browser and Client-Server testing highlights:o I18N testing for 20+ hotel brand/country/language (e.g. Holiday Inn Switzerland

German) commercial reservation booking websiteso Tested expanded content for hotels, allowing for full access to backend hotel data;

manipulated data via hotel owner content management application in addition to validation of new tables. I18N expansion for 9 supported languages included as part of project. Included work with double-byte, Arabic and right-to-left text.

o Took responsibility for orienting and assisting new team memberso Projects often encompassed W3C/ADA and SEO testing.

B2B and Web Service testing:o Test member of initial B2B group created to allow external vendors to request and

receive hotel availability/pricing and create room reservations/modifications/cancellations using XML over HTTP using SOAP messaging

o OTA (Open Travel Alliance) XML specifications used for validations. Tool use of Altova XML Spy for XML editing and validations.

o Frequent testing of web service calls involving edited (per test case) XML requests sent via HTTP using Poster and HttpRequester

o The B2B group maintained a B2B-specific database. Testing involved querying for validations or retrieving data for creation of test scenarios and editing for testing (test team had edit rights to test database).

o SecureCRT used to monitor server logs during testing to assist in capturing defects, including defects not explicit in results returned for transactions.

BTSQA [Butler Technology Solutions – Quality Assurance] — Lawrenceville, GAExternal testing group providing quality-assurance assessment/testing of software, hardware and systems QA Tester, 1/99 to 1/04As a Butler tester, the range of services required writing test plans for external automation, testing based on provided test plans and complete test planning and testing thru to deployment. I was primarily involved in client-server application and web-based testing.

Tested online textbook supplements for Pearson Education. Testing included application, multimedia (such as Shockwave and Flash), install/uninstall, OS and browser compatibility testing.

Performed SMS testing for Johnson & Johnson across all J&J computer models. Test team member for Cinglar cell phone ecommerce website. Worked with IBM rapid application development group as a member of an independent test

team for a GMAC Financial sales and commission application. Test lead for Butler team testing Siemens chip manufacturing client-server application.Highlights: Selected to manage Vendor Relations as a side duty with less than 1 yr IT experience. Position

entailed managing relationships to provide test automation software from Mercury, Rational and Segue and understanding the product capabilities for making test recommendations. I coordinated training sessions for WinRunner, LoadRunner and Rational load testing.

Assigned by test lead to perform all data validations, working directly with the DBA team for BellSouth online product catalog. I helped create a 7 table join that, along with other queries developed independently, allowed for validation of all business rules for product search/purchase.
