There’s much more to the AKLC than books! You will find:

• The Learning Centre Helpdesk

• Self-service kiosks

• A wide range of electronic resources (e-books, e-journals and databases)

• Books, journals, newspapers, DVDs, classroom resources and more

• Quiet and silent study zones, individual study carrels and bookable group study rooms

• IT rooms, 24-Hour IT Lab and open access PCs

• Loanable laptops and wireless coverage throughout

• Printing, photocopying, scanning, laminating and binding

Essential things to know: The AKLC is a great place for you to study, learn, research, revise, write, think and be inspired! Please respect other learners by working quietly and remember to:• Use the designated phone zones for mobile phone calls• Use the group study rooms for group work• Use the silent study zones or study carrels to work undisturbed

Food is not allowed in the AKLC but drinks are, as long as they have a lid and are kept away from computers.

Welcome to the Andrew Kean Learning Centre (AKLC). The AKLC is home to Leeds Trinity Library and IT Services.

Saturday 11:00 – 16:45

Sunday 11:00 – 20:45

After hours Your student ID card is your key to access the AKLC’s after hours facilities. You can work all night in the 24-Hour IT Lab and return your books to the Book Return Box when the library is closed.

What you can borrow:

Two week loan White date label 10p fine per day

Renew your loans:

Essential things to know: You need your student ID card to borrow Library items• You must not allow anyone else to borrow using your card• You are responsible for all items on your Library account

You can renew your loans up to 8 times, unless the item has been reserved by another student.

You will receive courtesy e-mails reminding you when your books are due for return and when they become overdue• It is still your responsibility to return or renew your books on time

You will be charged for lost and long overdue items:• £25 for Multimedia and Main Stock items• £15 for Classroom Resources

On LibraryWeb you will find: iDiscover, the Library catalogue• Search for books, e-books, DVDs and print journals• Reserve items which are out on loan

Articles+• Search across the library collections for full-text articles and more

E-Journal Finder• Search for e-journals by title

My Subject• Find more resources such as specialist subject databases

My Library Account• Manage your account and renew your loans

Essential things to know:

You need an ATHENS username and password to access Leeds

Trinity Library e-books, e-journals and other electronic resources.

• This will be sent to your preferred email account

• Contact [email protected] or visit the Learning Centre

Helpdesk if you need help

You can access LibraryWeb from home

• Log in to the Intranet via https://remote.leedstrinity.ac.uk

• Use your Leeds Trinity network username and password

• Click on Leeds Trinity Intranet and go to LibraryWeb

WhErE to gEt hElp At the Learning Centre Helpdesk you can:

• Get help with self-service• Get help finding books in the AKLC• Request Inter-library Loans• Reset your passwords• Top up your printer credits• Purchase stationery, discs, USB sticks, etc.• Book a study room• Borrow a laptop• Get IT support• Ask to see your Liaison Librarian

Your Liaison LibrariansYou can get help with your research from your Liaison Librarian. They can show you how to find good quality resources for your essays and dissertations.

Pop into the Consultation Zone or contact your Liaison Librarian directly to make an appointment.

• Visit the Consultation Zone on the ground floor of the AKLC if you need: -help finding or using library resources -to order an article or book from another library -to use Leeds University Library

• The Consultation Zone is staffed by a Librarian from 11:00am - 3:00pm during term-time.
