Within the Commentaries tab you can choose to browse the ASIC Digest or search to locate the ASIC materials. Extensively integrated with Thomson Reuters publications, you can link to case digest summaries in FirstPoint, access full text cases, link to legislation available in other commentary services and more. 1. Browsing ASIC Digest Online Browsing Commentaries allows you to drill down through the Table of Contents to locate a product (eg ASIC Digest) and the documents contained within the product (eg Class Orders). To browse begin by selecting a practice area (eg Corporations) from the Commentaries list then select a product title to display all material contained within the title. Continue to click on the headings or subheadings then select a document from the hitlist to display the full text. The Commentaries Tab displays the products you subscribe to in the Table of Contents by:

1) Subject – this lists products by Practice Areas eg Corporations. 2) Alphabetically - this lists products in alphabetical order A-L or M-Z.

Step 2. Click on the button next to ASIC Digest to view recent update, content overview and author information.

Step 1. Click Corporations>ASIC Digest>Class Orders>2009 Class Orders Step 2. A list of 2009 Class Orders will be displayed in the Table of Contents on the left and in the hitlist on

the right. Scroll through the hitlist and select Class Order CO 09/340.

Click Tag Results to save the list

To print multiple documents from the hitlist check the boxes and select Print & Go

Finding Terms in the Table of Contents – Title Searching Use the Find search box located in the top left hand corner of the screen to Search for terms located within the ASIC Digest and ASIC Digest Archive Example: To locate all headings containing the terms varying AFS licence Step 1. Enter varying AFS licence into the Find box and click Find. A list of titles and subtitles containing your

term(s) will be displayed.

Step 2. Click on a link to display a list of documents within a product.

Note: Searching the Table of Contents on the left will search titles and subtitles you subscribe to only. To search the full text of the ASIC Digest (or ASIC Digest Archive), click Commentaries and select ASIC Digest and/or ASIC Digest Archive from the Product drop-down list to display an ASIC specific Search Form.

3. Searching ASIC Digest and ASIC Digest Archive Online Commentaries includes a collection of annotated legislation, narrative commentary, and regulatory services. To display search options specific to the ASIC content, select ASIC Digest or ASIC Digest Archive from the All Products drop-down list.

There are two search options available in the Commentaries tab to search the ASIC Digest and ASIC Digest Archive – Free Text Search and Field Searching. Free Text Searching This will search all areas within a record including, legislation, commentary, regulatory documents such as regulatory guides, class orders, instruments and more. To search, enter search term(s) into the Free Text Search box and click Search to display a list of relevant documents, which contain these terms. Search term connectors may be used to construct a search. To view a list of these click on the Free Text Search field label. Example 1: Search for the phrase “takeovers relief” in ASIC Digest.
