The Quintet explores the many sounds of Jazz legend Miles Davis. Davis was one of the most influential and popular jazz musi- cians of our time and during this informative evening, the JAS Quintet will feature compositions from the great Miles Davis Quintets and Septets and their music from 1954 through the early 70s. Musicians include Jim Spiers (trumpet), Joel Shotwell (saxo- phones), CJ Kocher (saxophones), Andrew Reinartz (bass), Jeff Paul (keyboards), and Daniel Heier (drums). This ticketed performance will be presented in the Sanctuary of Yankton’s Christ Episcopal Church located at 517 Douglas Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m. Ticket price is $25 and all sales are final. Greg Henderson, District III Direc- tor, presented an agreement temporar- ily contracting up to sixteen (16) hours per week with the county, to provide administrative and technical assistance services for the Planning and Zoning Office. Brian McGinnis of Planning & Development District III would begin providing services starting Monday, March 4, 2019 and end Friday, April, 26, 2019. The county shall pay $65.00 per hour and if there is clerical or other support services will be billed $40.00 per hour. Action 1981C: A motion was made by Kettering and seconded by Loest to approve the agreement with Planning & Development District III. Roll call vote was taken with Kettering, Loest, Healy, Swensen and Klimisch voting Aye; Motion carried, 5-0. Action 1982C: A motion was made by Kettering and seconded by Healy to approve the Planning and Zoning Commissioner job description and ap- plication form. All present voted aye; motion carried. Action 1983C: A motion was made by Healy and seconded by Loest to re- cess for 10 minutes. All present voted aye; motion carried. Action 1984C: A motion was made by Kettering and seconded by Loest to reconvene. All present voted aye; mo- tion carried. Class F Permits: States Attorney Rob Klimisch gave an explanation for the change in Class F permits requir- ing a conditional use permit. Klimisch said that in his opinion the board is complying with the ordinance for Class F permits, but also added there should be public input and more dis- cussion for better clarification for the Class F process. There were public comments from John Gunderson and Jared Huber. Action 1985C: A motion was made by Kettering and seconded by Loest to recess the regular session at 10:55 am and convene in executive session to discuss litigation SDCL 1-25-2(3) and personnel issues SDCL 1-25-2(1). All present voted aye; motion carried. Action 1986C: A motion was made by Kettering and seconded by Swensen to adjourn the executive ses- sion at 12:28 pm and reconvene in regular session. All present voted aye; motion carried. Chairman Klimisch reported no ac- tion would be taken as a result of the executive session. An emergency meeting of the Yankton County Commission was called to order by Chairman Dan Kli-misch at 9:00 am Monday, February 25, 2019.
