POWER MODE: This option is suitable when an aggressive application

of maximum power is required, and delivered through a

sharpened throttle response.

INTELLIGENT MANUAL TRANSMISSION (iMT): Developed to optimise the engine’s abundance of torque,

the slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission puts

the power at the driver’s fingertips, no matter the road

surface or the speed. Fitted as standard on all manual

transmission-equipped Legend 50s, iMT matches the

engine speed to the transmission speed, resulting in

gear changes with minimal disruption. Changing up, the

engine speed is matched to the next gear – no jerks,

no jumpiness. During downshifts, the same happens,

keeping the revs smooth and the shifting seamless.

While it’s important to know your own power, what

makes you a true legend is in knowing exactly how to

harness it. With a choice of either a four-litre petrol V6

engine offering maximum muscle or a 2.8-litre turbo

diesel loaded with always-on torque, as well as the

option of 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains, the Legend 50 ensures

confident off-road handling and braked towing capacity

DOWNHILL-ASSIST CONTROL (DAC)*Preventing the wheels from locking while manoeuvring extreme descents, this system simultaneously manages engine braking and brake pressure, maintaining a stall-free and super-stable vehicle speed.

HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL (HAC)This feature prevents the vehicle from rolling back on steep ascents during take-off.

TRAILER SWAY CONTROL (TSC)When towing, TSC, through the use of the vehicle’s stability control system, stabilises the connection between your Hilux and a trailer so that the effect of potentially destabilising crosswinds, under-winds and variations in the road surface are neutralised. Steering operations are also more pronounced: TSC suppresses extra lateral movement before it gets beyond your brak-ing or steering range, making sure the trailer is steady and stays completely within your control at all times.

TRACTION CONTROL (TRC) *W h e n d r i v i n g o f f- r o a d o r i n s l i p p e r y c o n d i t i o n s , TRC applies brake pressure to prevent wheels from spinning during acceleration. On the Double Cab 4X4 AT models, this is detected automatically, thanks to TRC ( Traction Control).

Legend 50 badging extends to the doors and tailgate,

while the black Legend 50 styling bar gives the vehicle a

whole new look. Its strong styling is taken even further

with new and uniquely styled 18-inch alloy wheels, while

a tow bar is fitted as standard.

Its forceful, formidable outline is accentuated

by the fog l ights housed in the front bumper, as well

as the upper and lower gri l les that assert the vehicle’s

masculine form. As befits a legend, the headlights,

daytime running l ights, fog l ights and brake l ights

are all LED-powered. Follow-me-home functionality

is integrated into the l ighting control system, which

allows the headlights to temporarily remain switched

on for a predetermined period after the driver has

exited the vehicle.

While toughness comes standard on all Hiluxes, the Legend 50 also exclusively sports an accentuated black interior trim, perforated partial leather seats and a high-gloss black instrument panel.

For added convenience, the Xtra and Double Cab versions of the Legend 50 also come equipped with a push start button, which replaces a traditional key. This is linked to the Smart entr y system, which allows you to conveniently lock and unlock your Legend 50 without having to remove the key fob from your pocket.

Air conditioning takes care of the worst temperature ex tremities, while the easy-grip, four-spoke leather steering wheel is fitted with switches to control your information display, mobile phone and audio.

TOUGH TECHLegendary toughness doesn’t compromise on high-tech features. The infotainment system has been upgraded to an 8-inch touch TFT screen unit which features satellite navigation*, a DVD player; Bluetooth, USB and auxil iar y compatibil ity. The screen also doubles as the display monitor for the vehicle’s reverse camera*.

For convenience, depending on the cab configuration, there are up to three power sockets (2 x 12V, and 1 x 220V) for powering anything from smartphone chargers to laptops and camping fridges.

LEGENDS LIKE COMPANYThe seating ergonomics of the Legend 50 have been designed to provide exceptional comfort for both the driver and passengers, while offering multiple space configuration options. To increase storage size, the rear seats of the Double Cab can tip up to reveal a 60:40 split.

There’s also space for all sorts of smaller extras in the form of six cup holders*, pockets behind the front seats, as well as a generous dual-compartment* lockable glove box where the top compartment can act as a cooler box.

Passenger safety is futher taken care of by ELR seatbelts with Pretensioners and Force Limiters.

The ELR retractor allows the easy extension of the seatbelt to facilitate comfortable movement by the passenger, but will lock the seatbelt during a sudden stop or impact.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM(ABS) Excess brake pressure is modulated to allow for continued

tyre rotation under extreme braking conditions - excessive

pressure would ordinarily lock the brakes and induce a

skid, eliminating the ability to turn, prolonging the braking

distance and possibly leading to a loss of control.

BRAKE ASSIST (BA) Braking power is quickly and automatically increased in

the case of an emergency stop through BA.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE-FORCEDISTRIBUTION (EBD) Stopping distances are minimised while maintaining

control at all times: EBD works in conjunction with the ABS

The Legend 50 is equipped with up to seven airbags (distributed as driver, front passenger, curtain*, driver knee and front side* airbags). Extra-strength steel and high-strength structures further reduce the possibility of passenger injuries. Impact-absorbing structures have also been incorporated into the bonnet and front fender to reduce pedestrian injury, should a collision occur.

child-restraint seatbelts to secure baby seats to the

rear seat. Further peace of mind comes with seatbelt

warnings, while the rear doors are fitted with child locks

All Legend 50 models are installed with advanced

security technology that includes remote central locking,

automatically locking doors upon pull-away at a certain

speed and an anti-theft system that is activated once

the vehicle is locked. There is also an intrusion sensor,
