This distance learning programme is for employees looking for an introduction to the issues around stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination. It addresses good practice in equality, both in the workplace and the community and explores the rights and responsibilities that apply to everyone. This certificate programme is ideal for those looking for a good knowledge base in the subject alongside an understanding of everyday application. It applies to all settings including public, private and third sector as well as within the community. Who should attend? There are no academic requirements but attendees must be 19 and over and have lived in the EU for the past three years to qualify for funding. Training outcomes The course covers the following topics: Exploring equality and diversity Exploring how people’s rights and responsibilities are protected at work Working or learning in a place that promotes diversity Living in diverse communities. The course is delivered via distance learning with the support of a tutor via email and phone and employees are supplied with detailed resources. Duration Nine weeks via distance learning. Assessment Assessment is via coursework. Progression Following successful completion progression to a range of other programmes at Level 4 and above is available. Society will receive £4.70 in return for every £1 invested in Leicester College.
