Two (2) titt}' (50) k w diesel electric gener a to r s have been putinto operation and are now serving all Kill tary Government areas , with theexception ot Otticer dependts quarters, the garage, and the hospital .Power lines are being strung and it is planned to locate all generatorsin the garage area and serve all Mill tary Government area, 1d. th the exc ep ­tion ot the Hospital . 'lbe hospital continues being supplied by Japanesegenerators . Keeping these generators supplied, In turn, with Japanesediesel bas been a problem. A s alvage crew Is now at work on Kal ak alattempting to salvage Japanese diesel trom an undergmund s tora e tank.It 1s est1mated that between 1, 000 and 2,000 barrels can be reloasedfrom this source . In the meantime we are prepared to operate,tl the Japane s egenerators on the substitute kerosene, diesel and gasoline mixture . Ofsix (6) titty (50) kw kiesel generators received last month, two (2)are operating and two (2) others will be operating upon receipt of spareparts . '!he water supply has been adequate this mon t h .
