How does it work?

• Vantage automates (via policy) BIOSand firmware updates, ensuring devicesremain up-to-date and protected againstemerging threats.

• Vantage is a Universal WindowsPlatform (UWP) application that can beloaded at the factory as part of a customimage, via Lenovo’s Crystal preload, ordownloaded by IT.

• When launched, Vantage checks theLenovoTM cloud or a local repository forupdates. This location is configurableby IT.

• Automation of BIOS, firmware, anddriver updates as well as device settingsare managed by Active Directory.

What does Vantage replace?

• Previously, Lenovo Companion andThinkVantage® Utilities provided some ofthe same functionality.

Vantage enables precise policy-driven control of hardware settings outside of regular Windows tools.

• Network security: enable the ability to detectuntrusted Wi-Fi networks

• ThinkPad® microphones: adapt for single orwide array based on environment and application

• ThinkPad displays: control color temperatureand adjust light to reduce eye strain andboost usability

• ThinkPad cameras: manage and/or restrictapplication access and control

• Battery performance: optimize based onuser profile

What is Lenovo Vantage?

Vantage is a client-side application that runs on Windows 10 PCs. It is offered at no cost to the customer.

To secure the BIOS update process, you want to be sure your users are usinga secure local update. Vantage helps you reduce your risk by both automating updates and giving you control overwhere they come from.
