By incorporating the latest in composite material development and mechanical design, our high performance digital lens system with a thermal compensation module remains in focus throughout a wide range of operating temperatures. The key component of this proprietary invention is the thermal bar. As the RPTV heats up, the thermal bar expands, pushing the lens closer to the CRT and refocusing the image. This passive compensation results in the sharpest of images.

How Enhanced Color Purity(ECP) Filters WorkThe CRTs in rear-projection televisions (RPTV) displaymore colors than desired. Years of research haveresulted in the color filtration in our patented ECPfilters. ECP minimizes the transmission of unwantedwavelengths while maximizing the transmission ofdesired wavelengths and the optical performance of thelens system. Red and green filters are available andare incorporated into the C-element. ECP increasesthe color palette of the RPTV, resulting in brilliant colorsthat more accurately reproduce the image.

This graph shows the spectral output of a typical greenCRT. As you can see, there are more colors producedthan green (about 540nm). The green line shows thepercentage of light transmitted by our ECP filters.
