1919 Three friends from Switzerland leave their mountain village (Vissoie) to work in the grand hotels of London. Two make it to London, Mr. Ferdinand Gillet choses to stay in Paris . They vowed to stay in contact and help each other and their guests “in Friendship”. The Concierge Network begins.
1929 Les Clefs d’Or is created.
1952 First International Congress of the EUPGH (European Union des Portieres des Grandes Hotels) In attendance: France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy and Switzerland.

1976 Canada is the first country outside of Europe to join EUPGH
1998 Change of name to UICH (Union Internationale des Concierges d'Hôtels) – Les Clefs d’Or
2011 Virginia Casale from Montreal, Canada becomes UICH President
