on booking your newborn session!

This session guide will provide you with every-thing you need to know to prepare for that day. If your baby hasn’t been born yet, save this for the week of the session. :)

Our goal is to do the session between 6-12 days old, so keep me posted about delivery and labor so we can pick a date! I’m excited to meet your little one!

Sweetest regards,

congratulations

Every session is different. Each baby has a different disposion and a different level of flexibility. I will work with your baby and what poses are comfortable to him/her. Newborn safety is very important to me.

EEach session can last between 2 - 4+ hours, depending on how content/sleepy your baby is, and how many people will be in the session. Try your hardest to keep your baby awake for a few hours before our session so he/she will be supewill be super sleepy. Some find that giving them a bath that morning is very helpful in ge ng them awake and hungry. Try to plan your next feeding for right when you get to my studio.

I lI love photographing naked babies, and I’m fully prepared for what happens when you leave a baby naked...my blankets and props are all washable, so don’t worry! It’s likely I will even get peed on myself, again, it won’t be the first me. So don’t sweat it. YOU, on the other hand, need to bring an extra change of clothing in case it happens to you during your shots. You’ve been warned. :)

AA pacifier is a life-saver during a session with a baby who is fighng sleep. If at all possible, please bring one, even if your baby hasn’t really “figured it out” just yet. It will only be used as a last resort if desired.

what to expect....

My style of photography is very simple and understated. I want the photo to be all about baby and the family and the emoon, rather than what you are wearing.

Solid colors, either dark or light, work best. No designs or big logos, and a snug fit is best. Anything that wrinkles or bunches up will be noceable.

For mom, I have lots of fabric we can e around your chest for a strapless look, or a simple tank or short sleeved t-shirt works beaufully. If dad wants a shirtless photo with baby, those are great too. That is totally up to you!

FFor big sisters, a simple white/cream dress or shirt and jeans is precious. Big brothers look great shirtless with jeans, or with plain white shirt. I love barefoot, so don’t stress over shoes. I have lots of hair bows and headbands for big sisters, too.
