Diocese of Madison
Annual Catholic Appeal 2019
“In the Light of Faith”
The theme for the 2019 Annual Catholic
Appeal of the Diocese of Madison is “In the
Light of Faith.” We ask that God guide us, In
the Light of Faith, and give us the ability to put
our faith in Him to allow us the capacity to love
and care for those in our parishes, our diocese and the
Church throughout the world. We ask that His grace
make us even more generous in supporting those needs.
Each pledge to the Annual Catholic Appeal supports
diocesan ministries, education and services and assures
a strong future for the Diocese of Madison and the
people that it serves.
This year each of us is asked to consider making a
pledge, payable over six months. Your gift will help
enable the diocese to reach its goal and provide to
the ministries supported by the appeal.
If you received your pledge form in the mail, please
complete it and mail it back.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration and
generous response.
Scrip is available after all
weekend Masses

Parish Birthday Celebration and Breakfast
Our birthday breakfast is this Tuesday, February 19,
following the 8:00 a.m. Mass at Saint Patrick, Lodi in
the parish hall as we honor all those who celebrated an
80+ birthday this past fourth quarter of 2018 and
those celebrating the first quarter of 2019.
Care Team Gathering
Our parish Care Team will meet Thursday, February 28,
3:30-5:00 pm in the meeting room at Saint Patrick.
Team members should bring in their service hour
reports for both January and February. Lynda Koivunen
will offer an in-service on choosing the appropriate
level of care looking at the various options available
(independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing
care, etc.). The team will also continue its discussion of
the book, "Don't Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart." Team
members are asked to come prepared to discuss
chapters 3-4 of the book.
Our 12-member care team provided over 750 hours
of service to our care partners, both parishioners and
non parishioners in 2018 offering transportation to
medical appointments, making social visits and phone
check-ins, providing respite care and communion visits,
helping with errands and small household chores to
folks living in their own home as well as residents of
local residential facilities. The purpose of the care
team, supported with on-going training and supervision
from Catholic Charities, is to help individuals maintain
as much independence as possible through the
process of aging and/or health care issues. If you
would like to learn more about serving in our parish
care team ministry or in receiving services from the
care team, please contact care team coordinators,
Elizabeth Hoadley, Patsy Baebler or Cindy Fischer.
