Adoration & Benediction

Thursday 5:00 - 6:00 pm Dane (Confessions)

Friday 1:15 - 2:15 pm Lodi (Confessions)

From The Pastors Desk -

Sunday Obligation: Beginning next week-

end, Bishop Hying decided to discontinue

the general dispensation from the Sunday

obligation. As such, all Catholics who can

safely do so are invited back to Sunday

Mass. Importantly, the elderly, the immunodeficient,

and those who are still at increased risk may refrain

from Sunday Mass attendance without committing sin.

First Communion: Next Sunday, a good number of

children will be receiving the Blessed Sacrament for

the first time. As you know, this day was originally

scheduled for the spring during the Easter Season, but

it had to be postponed because of COVID. We thank

them for their patience and rejoice that their big day is

finally here! Please join me in praying for them as they

partake in this wonderful gift for the first time.

If possible, I urge parishioners to attend one of the

Saturday Vigil Masses to leave room for the First

Communicants and their families on Sunday.

Swiss Steak & Ham Dinner: Next Sunday we will

also be serving our drive-thru carry-out dinner from

11:30 until 3:30. Please stop by and support the

parish. So much effort and planning go into the dinner,

so I hope it will be a great success.

Additional Masses: Because the general dispensa-

tion is ending and because of the other events next

weekend, I will be adding an additional weekend Mass.

For the foreseeable future, I am adding a 6:30 PM Vigil

Mass at St. Michael in Dane to the weekend schedule.

This will be a simpler Mass (no music), but we will still

need volunteers to step up to make it work. Namely,

we will need a lector and two ushers to help out.

Please stop in the sacristy before Mass and talk to Fr.

Joe if you’re willing and able!

BT School Update: As you might have seen in the

news, our lawsuit against Dane County and Emergency

Order #9 made some positive progress -- last week the

Wisconsin Supreme Court granted a temporary injunc-

tion. Nevertheless, after consulting with Michael Lan-

caster (the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools), Dcn.

Michael and I have decided to keep school in Lodi

through the end of the month. At that point, we will

reevaluate the situation. If you have any questions,

please don’t hesitate talking to Dcn. Michael or myself.

We’ll do our best to keep you updated.

Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions: With the

school temporarily relocated to Lodi, naturally most of

our weekly liturgies are also taking place in Lodi. That

being said, I want to provide an opportunity during the

week to pray at St. Michael. Starting on September

24

th

, we will have Eucharistic Adoration every Thursday

from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Confessions will also be avail-

able during that time from 5:00 until 5:45 PM.

Pax,

Fr. Joe

40 Days for Life Campaign

Join Blessed Trinity Parish in praying at Planned

Parenthood in Madison for one hour this fall during the

40 Days for Life campaign. Statistics show that more

women choose life for their babies when people are on

the sidewalk praying and peacefully witnessing for life.

Blessed Trinity Parish needs your help to fill the hours

we have committed to over the 6 week campaign from

September 23 - November 1. Our Blessed Trinity time

slot is on Sundays from 2 pm - 3 pm. Are you willing to

help fill just one of these hours? Sign up sheets are at

Saint Patrick or Saint Michael entryways or contact our

Parish Liaison, Judene Skrum at (608) 849-5632.

A Note From Father Paul Fagan -

Dear Friends of many many years,

In Tanzania we often hear the Swahili word

“changamoto” used to describe a difficult situation.

Perhaps it is best translated as “challenge”. I have been

home here in Prairie du Chien for about 6 weeks. The

first 2 weeks were self quarantine. Since then I have

been dealing with the “changamoto” of how to

communicate with all of my friends in the 14 parishes

that have supported my work in Tanzania, some of them

since I bought a John Deere tractor back in 1974. When I

left Tanzania my hope and prayer was that Covid 19

would be coming under control in the USA and that I

would be able to reschedule my regular visits to the

various parishes at a later date. I found the situation

different than that of Nkololo, a town of 14,000 people,

where there were no known cases of Covid 19. I left with

obvious concerns about my safety, but due to issues with

my eyes, dental concerns, my annual check-up and my

annual supply of 2 heart medicines I made the long

safari. My fellow pastors in several parishes advised me

to find an alternate way of communicating my annual

update to all of you. It was suggested that the simplest

way was to write several installments for the the parish

bulletins. Consequently you will be hearing from me via

your parish bulletin when there is space for my updates.

My concern is that “out of sight, out of mind” may hold

true. I pray that it will not be so as I am still in the front

line, especially in our efforts to complete our

Songambele Health Center. You may continue your help

by writing a check to Roads to Life Tanzania and sending

it to PO Box 157, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821.

Prayers,

Father Paul
