CRAFT CORNERArrival Activity: Set out puzzles and allow the children to work on them together. Talk about sharing as they work. After the lesson, pass out the coloring sheets for the children to color. Encourage them to use “please” and “thank you” as they work on sharing their crayons with each other as they color. Remember to repeat the Bible lesson as they work. After they are finished color-ing, encourage them to share their coloring sheets with one another so that each one has shared a coloring page, and is taking someone else’s coloring page home. Set them all down on the floor to read the book listed above over sharing, and then pass out snacks for snack time. Instead of giving them all the same snack, mix up what you give to them, and then encourage them to share one thing off their plate with another child.

LESSON 1 (WEDNESDAY):

CRAFT CORNERArrival Activity: Set out books of bible stories about Jesus for the children to look at together to prepare them to think about how to share the story of Jesus.

After the lesson, pass out the scroll cutouts to your chil-dren, and give each of them some crayons and stickers to decorate the scroll with. As they work, talk about how Phillip shared with the Ethiopian how much Jesus loved him. Encourage them to learn a simple phrase like “Jesus loves you”, “Jesus is God’s Son.”, or “Jesus gave His life for you.” so that they too can share Jesus’ love with others. As you can see on the template, the parents are encouraged to ask their child about Jesus, so you can have your children practice how to share Jesus’ love, by reciting one of the phrases above to each other.

LESSON 2 (SUNDAY):

CRAFT CORNERArrival Activity: Set out the sunglasses and discuss how they help your eyes. Let the children try them on.

After the lesson, allow the children to reenact Saul meeting Jesus. To make it more inter-active, tape down brown construction paper to make a road, and dress the children up in old sheets made into “cloaks”. Tell the children to pretend they are Saul. As they walk, shine the flashlight at them and say, “Saul! Why do you not believe in me?” Ask the chil-dren to say what Saul said next. Saul says, “Who are you, Lord?” Say back to the children, “I am Jesus! The Son of God!” Let the children take turns shining the light as Jesus, and being Saul. Let them play with the flashlight and sunglasses. After they go over this a few times, take them back to the table, and allow them to color the coloring sheets. For add-ed effect, add gold glitter to the light beam on the page.

Before class, prepare each child a 5x7 piece of card stock that is covered in foil. On the side that is foiled, write, “Saul believes in Jesus” with a black permanent mark-er. On the construction paper, write “Saul saw the Light.” Cut this out and tape onto the flashlight. After the story, give each child the foiled card-stock, and allow them to draw “light” with yellow markers onto the foil. Give each child their flashlight and glasses, and show them what the saying says on their flashlights. Sing “This Little Light of Mine” and encourage the children to shine their lights as you sing. To be extra fun, you can purchase a pair of the HUGE sunglasses and wear them and ask if they would have helped Saul when Jesus spoke to him from the light. Finish up with a snack.

CRAFT CORNERArrival Activity: Cut into small circles pieces of wax paper to make “scales” and set them out on the table for the children to play with. When you begin the lesson, use the “scales” to demonstrate the miracle that occurred.

Before class, cut out several circles out of wax paper for the children to touch and play with as they arrive to class. After the lesson, give each child a handful of the scales, and let them act out what it must have looked like when the scales fell from Saul’s eye. After you go over this a few times, pass out the face templates and help each child glue the scales onto the face’s eyes. Do not forget to review the story as you work. SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: Acts 16:11-15

CRAFT CORNERArrival Activity: Set out the purple pieces of fabric for the children to play dress up with as they arrive.

Allow the children to color the coloring page after the lesson is over. Encourage them to use the col-or purple as they color Lydia’s clothing. Bring spe-cial “purple” colored snacks for the children to eat such as purple fruit loops and purple juice boxes. This will be a short craft today, so allow them to use this extra time to play in their learning centers together before worship services.

TODDLER TIP:Please remember that two and three year olds need a lot of hands on activities and movement while they learn. Make worship easier on the parents, and do not neglect to allow the children to have time to get up and move around. Class participation should not just be happening seated at the table.

each child)

BIBLE TIMEToday we will talk again about our friend Paul. Remember, Paul was a very special helper to Jesus. He and another helper named Silas were put in prison because they were sharing Jesus’ love with others. That is a silly thing to be put in prison for isn’t it? While there, do you think they were sad? I would be sad! But no, they were still happy! They sang songs of praise to God and prayed to him. While they were in prison, they shared Jesus’ love with all who were in there, and were very happy to do it! Paul and Silas loved Jesus very much and talked about him everywhere, even in a scary prison!

Craft Time Retell: Paul and Silas were put in prison because they were sharing the story of Jesus with all people. We know this is a silly thing to be put in prison for, but Paul and Silas just kept talking about Jesus’ love with everyone in the prison. They sang songs, and prayed to God while there. Why did they do this? Because they loved Jesus, and wanted everyone to know it!

After the lesson, pass out the coloring page for the children to work on as you re-view the lesson with them. When finished, pass out a pair of handcuffs to each child, and help them put them on their wrists. Them pass out the class songbooks and have each child try to open the songbooks wearing the handcuffs. Talk about how Paul and Silas sang while in prison, and how we can always talk to God, and sing to Him wherever we are….even while in handcuffs. Sing a few songs with your class, and have them all say a prayer with you. When this is over, take the handcuffs off the children, and keep them handy for next week’s craft.

When the children arrive to class, allow them to enjoy a juice box as you go over the lesson. Once they finish the juice box, you will keep it for the craft time. Using the straw that came with the juice box, help the children tape their triangle to the top of the juice box straw. Puncture a hole in the front of the juice box for the children to stick their sail into (see photo). Allow the children to take turns sailing their boats in the water. You will only need an inch of water in each tub to help prevent spills. Give your children a straw, and have them work to blow their boat to the other side of the tub. Remember, two and three year olds learn best through sensory learning, so make this a fun activity and do not forget to retell the lesson as they play.
