OBJECTIVES:

1. Relates the brief history of badminton2. Identifies the materials and equipment used in badminton 3. Shows and explains the correct ways of holding the racket 4. Demonstrates the different strokes in playing the game including the service.5. Execute correctly the proper feet and body movements while playing.6. Discusses the rules of badminton7. Play effectively, following the rules of the game

SUBJECT MATTERS:

1. Brief history and development of badminton2. Materials and equipment3. Fundamental skills

PROCEDURES:

Ask the students if they know how to play badminton. Tell them to relate their experiences and how they learned to play.

Let the student render a report on the brief history and development of badminton.

Show the materials used in playing badminton.

Show a bare diagram of the court. Let the students label the parts and write the measurements. Ask the students to draw their own diagram, name the parts, and write the measurement of each part.

Conduct a pretest to determine the level of skills the students have before they undergo the new lesson.

Introduce the skills one by one and let each student try the skills.

Divide the class into groups. Assign one leader and let them practice by group. Give ample time for practice. in this strategy, select the leaders based on the results of the pretest. Let them give some instructions.

Discuss the rules of the game. Create some game situations and let the students discuss and make some conclusions.

Let a pair of students play. Let the rest of the class observe and jot down their observations. Have a discussion after the game.

Divide the class into pairs and conduct a single elimination game. modify the scoring system A player that makes five pints wins the set. Allow the players one set each game. Enjoin the manifestation of honesty, sportsmanships, and the spirit of brotherhood.

ASSESMENT: Administer a written test and practical test by partners.
