Monday 11 th May MORNING GREETING Check ClassDojo for a message from your teacher! DAILY FITNESS Please click this link: http://wbpsdailyfitness.weebly.com/ NUMERACY ACTIVITIES Statistics and Probability (ACMSP011) We are learning to represent data on a graph. Data is information, and we use graphs to display information. Login to Mathseeds and complete lesson 80. Now, we are going to sort some fruits according to their colour and record this information (data) on a graph. Refer to the attached pages below. Looking at the empty graph, we can see that there are 4 colours displayed at the bottom, and numbers from 1 to 10 going up the side of the graph. This helps us display our data clearly and makes it easy for others to read our information. Choose one colour at a time and count the quantity of fruits that are the same colour (a helpful hint is to cross out each fruit as you count it). Record the number on the graph by colouring one box to represent each piece of fruit you counted. For example, if you counted 4 red fruits, colour 4 boxes above the red circle to show that you counted 4. Once you have completed counting each colour and have displayed your data on the graph, complete the questions to the side of the page. Upload a photo of your work through your ClassDojo Portfolio. MORNING TEA LITERACY ACTIVITIES Writing (ACELA1437 & ACELY1653) We are learning to write a weekend recount. Think about what you did on the weekend. Did you go to the park? Did you visit any friends or family members? Did you do something special with your family at home? Brainstorm some ideas and then choose your favourite event. Think about and plan a super sentence you can write about the event. For example: On the weekendI went to the park with my family/I played catch with my Dad/I had lots of fun at the park. Think about how many words are going to be in your sentence. Also remember the different writing features we need to include in our work capital letters to begin a sentence, finger space between our words, writing our letters on the line and finishing each sentence with a full stop. Parents, please refer to the Writing at Home sheet attached, to assist with this writing task. Once you have finished your sentence, use pencils, crayons or paint to complete a picture. Make sure your picture matches your sentence. Upload a photo of your work through your ClassDojo Portfolio. LUNCH LITERACY ACTIVITIES Literature (ACELT1580) We are learning to retell a text. Read the Little Red Hen story on our ClassDojo story. Discuss the story sequence with your parents. What happened in the beginning, middle and end. Complete the Little Red Hen sequencing activity sheet below, cutting and pasting the pictures in the correct order of the story. Alternatively, draw your own pictures or orally list the events in order. Now have a go at retelling the story from the beginning to the end all by yourself take a video and upload to your Class Dojo portfolio. Attached below are some Little Red Hen Character puppets, if you would like to act out the story during the week! We would love to see some puppet shows if you do!
