A. We form the comparative adjectives like this:

Adjectives of one syllable, add -er (comparative);

Adjective comparative

Old older

Adjectives that end in “e” , add –r (comparative)

Adjective comparative

Wide wider

Adjectives that end inconsonant-vowel-consonant, we double the final consonant

Adjective comparative

Adjectives that end in consonant + y ,we change “y” to “i” and add -er (comparative)
