Procedure Materials Set Induction (10-15 minutes) Recalling the Treaty of Protection that was signed by Sultan Abdul Momin in 1888 and The Amanat in 1885. Teacher will ask the students the reasons for the signing of the treaties. Teacher will then relate the two treaties with the topics that will be taught. Teacher will highlight the two important events that they are going to learn in the topics: o The Annexation/Seizure of Limbang in 1890 o The signing of The Supplementary Protectorate Agreement of 1905/1906 – The Beginning of The Residential System in Work activities or materials from previous lessons.

Procedure MaterialsSet Induction (10-15 minutes)

Recalling the Treaty of Protection that was signed by Sultan Abdul Momin in 1888 and The Amanat in 1885. Teacher will ask the students the reasons for the signing of the treaties.

Teacher will then relate the two treaties with the topics that will be taught. Teacher will highlight the two important events that they are going to learn in the topics:

o The Annexation/Seizure of Limbang in 1890o The signing of The Supplementary Protectorate Agreement of

1905/1906 – The Beginning of The Residential System in Brunei.

Teacher shows the map of Brunei with Limbang included.

Work activities or materials from previous lessons.

Activities Each student will be given a drawing paper. Instruction: “Draw a map

of Brunei with Limbang included” (10 minutes) Teacher will divide students into four or five groups. Each group will be given notes on the four topics above and a piece of

Manila card. Instruction: “Draw a timeline between 1890 and 1907. Using the notes, take out the important dates and put them in your timeline” (30 minutes)

Completed timeline will be stuck on the whiteboard. Teacher will discuss the timeline with the students. Teacher will reveal the correct

timeline to the students in the end of the discussion. (10 to 15 minutes) Groups will break up and sit according to their normal arrangement.

Teacher will distribute a worksheet for students. Instruction: “Complete the crossword puzzle. You can use your notes to help you” Students will return their worksheet to the teacher.

Teacher will produce a blown-up size of the crossword puzzle. Students will try to complete the crossword puzzle together. Teacher can use this session as lesson recap as well.

Teacher will ask the students the new and difficult words that they have learnt from the topics. Words will be written on colourful papers and stuck on designated wall.

Homework:o Choose one the topics below. Discuss your topic in 50 to 100
