Learning objectives - At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to identify some new vocabulary words which are in the story. - At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to find the types of articles which are mentioned in the story. For examples; current events, sports, weather, etc. - At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to answer the questions which are related to the story. For example, what does the girl’s father do when he gets home from work? Assumptions about prior learning - Some of the students may know some of the new vocabulary words. - Some of the students know how to read the story correctly. Anticipated problems - There may be an extra time of the lesson. - There may be a problem when the students are going to move to other groups, like running or pushing each other. - Some groups may finish doing the activities before other groups, talking and doing nothing. Possible solutions - The teacher has to plan some extra activities for these cases. - The teacher has to tell the students that they have to walk not run, and the organized group will get a point. - The teacher has to give them some extra work to keep them busy until the others finish, and then they will start sharing their answers. Personal focus for this lesson - I will use positive interaction and personal action to create a positive learning environment. I am going to use some motivation cards to encourage the students and reward students who worked well (PDP)

- The students will listen to the teacher’s questions, think about the answers and share their answers.

teacher will start explaining some new

words by showing them some pictures and

flash cards.

- Students have to focus on teacher’s explanation and answer the teacher if she asks some questions.

T-S - Read the story: the teacher will read the

story twice, then she will ask some students

to read it.

- Students will listen carefully to the teacher’s reading and then they will start reading aloud.

Elaborate:10 min

T-S - The teacher will reorganize the students

according to their levels. For example, the

high level students will be in a group, the

middle level students will be in a group and

the law ability students will be in a group.

Then the teacher will give each group a

worksheet that contains questions which are

appropriate to their level. After they finish

answering the questions, the teacher will ask

the students to go back to their old groups.

The purpose of this strategy is to let all

- Students will reorganize themselves to the groups that the teacher ask them to move to. Then, they will show the teacher how they are ready. After that they will answer the questions in groups. After they finish they will return to their old groups.

S-S - The teacher will give each group one poster

that contains all these questions that they

answered, and then she will give them two

minutes to share the answers together. After

that they will share their answers with the

teacher.

- Students will listen to the instruction from the teacher, and they will start answering. After that they will share their answers with the teacher.

If there is an extra time, the teacher will ask the students to open their workbook and do exercise 6 and 7 on page 46
