in Seeking New Landscapes, but in
Having New Eyes”

Coca-Cola says that it's cleaning house on the
IT front as part of its five-year, $3 billion
productivity push announced in 2014. It tells
analysts at its conference that it had 1,450 IT
applications in 2014. But it expects to
"sunset" 600 IT applications and move another
425 applications to the cloud.
ITaaS and the Cloud Continuum…
“However beautiful the Strategy, you should occasionally
look at the Results”
Winston Churchill
Delivering an ”IT vending machine experience”
will require IT departments to become
Service Brokers
(451 Research)
• Cloud Service Management is still evolving… • Cloud enables ITaaS, ITaaS is about transformation • Server Provisioning/Mgmt. ≠ Service Provisioning/Mgmt. • Software-Defined and Automation are key, but not sufficient • Orchestration is as important as Choreography • It “takes a village” to be a Services Broker • Develop a Holistic Mind-Set, Technology is just one dimension
Lessons Learned…
Speedboat or Supertanker…?
• Update your Tool-Set (Lean StartUp, Design Thinking, Agile, etc.)
• Build a Failure-Tolerant Culture-Set, or the Art of the Pivot
Lessons Learned [cont.]
“If you take risks, you may fail.
But if you don't take risks,
you will surely fail.
The greatest risk of all
is to do nothing”
(Roberto Goizueta)b
