Lessons of Liberalism
Communication and Governance
30.06.2012
The day starts with the discussion on the political movements in the world.
The session is held by Ivo Ten Haagen.
Talking about the political movements that are not liberal (conservatives and socialists)
If you are liberal, you are democrat. But if you are democrat, that does not necessarily mean that you are liberal. (Ivo Ten Haagen)
A QUESTION: Why does one call himself socialist?
Why does one call himself socialist? May be because of the attitude to the public property. For the socialism the workers were just job machines. People were working a lot and not getting paid enough. And as we all are in one community, people have to help to fill in the gaps of the earned money.
Try NOT to know who you are and make a decision. That is to say, for get about your own benefits as a community member.
All the qualities that really make a difference between the people should help to earn money also for the community. (The example of a beautiful model)

LIBERALS
You should decide on your own what’s good for your life. Your own belief decides whether you have a good life.
You can be what you want. You should be free to choose and vote.
…in Holand If I say “I’m proud of my country”, you will have
the following reaction: “Poor nationalistic ******”
• What am I? Who am I? You can be liberal to fight the conservatives in your country. Putting labels on people is easy. But you are over it. Don’t fall in the trap of choosing. You do not have to be a slave of those, who think how this or that label should behave like. The differences are accepted by liberalism, but the labels should not be put on.
• Your local city community does not deny new people because you do not like them but because the capacity of your community is not enough.
The participants are divided into 2 groups: Conservatives and Communists.
The groups had to pretend they are conservatives and communists and had to think of certain election campaign items (2) for the program.
There were three groups (1 Conservative, 2 Socialists). The presentations of the socialists were very impressive. That looked like a brief theatrical play performance.

The high level of bureaucracy is the problem for the pseudo-liberal country.
The groups choose among being Social, Classical liberal or Libertarian.
(after lunch) the participants made presentations on what is LYNC, where did it come from and where it goes.
After a short break: a special session on informing new members about the LYNC, how it was formed, how it started and where it stands to go.
Question-Comments-Suggestion session
Fun session in the boats on Bazaleti lake.
Final session of the day.Social Media.
LYNC has a key work in it NETWORK, so it could be reasonable to learn some special things of networking from social media.
Remember: You need only 6 handshakes to get to the President. (via active networking)
Social media gives unlimited opportunities to network, spread, share, communicate.
Some interesting Facebook, Twitter and other statistics. (Barack Obama, Serj Sargsyan, Ilham Aliyev, Ivo Ten Haagen)…
Let’s think about it !...
Is it normal to share the photos of your kids, when you do not now whether your kid is a conservative or liberal personality. Will he like it or not?
Face to face communication is a better way.
Are Facebook and Twitter some kind of drug?
Some people use social media quite effectively. F.e. a journalist can make accurate, up-to-date news.
Suggestions for LYNC.
It’s very important to use every part of the page that you have. So, add description under the logo. (50-100 words) – Asya
It would be good to add photos of the team, people that are involved in LYNC.
Open the wall of the page for posting. Trust people and be open.
Communicate all possible social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc., blog)
Search Engine Optimization. Use it. Metatags.
Use videos on the web-page.
