By Elisabeth Ste-Marie - No matter the kind of business you are doing in Montreal, theblend of alcohol and food is always amongthe best options to take the edge off with aclient. Fortunately, Montreal offers a greatselection of bars and restaurants. The follo-wing article outlines four of Le St-Laurent‟stop-rated places for business encounters in arelaxing atmosphere over a glass of Caber-net while enjoying your meal of choice.

Whiskey CaféWhisky Café is the perfect spot for whis-

key lovers. They carry an impressive selec-tion of whiskey and most importantly theyhave a cigar lounge. You might simply sitdown and enjoy the smell of cigars withoutnecessarily smoking. Cigar aficionados canbring their own cigars but they also offer anextravagant list of very-well kept cigarsstarting at less then 10 dollars apiece. Theirwhiskey list will please any tastes and wal-lets. They specialize in Scottish whiskeys butthey also offer Canadian, Irish, Americanand Japanese choices. As for food, to ac-company your Glenfiddich, you may trytheir foie gras plate, which is to die for. They don‟t offer a full menu, but tapas tohelp hold your alcohol.

Boris BistroBoris Bistro has one of the most impressive

terraces in the city, as well as a deliciousmenu and interesting wine list; a winningcombination for a complete dinner under thestars with an urban vibe. The restaurant en-courages local products, such as cheeses andice wines. Montreal‟s terrace season is ex-ceptional; because of our long winter mon-ths, we make up for this „wasted‟ time indul-ging on every possible Montreal terrace. By Laura Giaccari - Spring is an importantseason in Montreal, as the city sheds the lastof its snow and prepares for the blooming

greenery of trees and flowers. Those visit-ing Montreal for a short time should enjoythe celebrated spring season by taking oneof the many scenic walks this city has tooffer. Walking is one of the best ways tospend time with someone and all it requiresis some comfortable shoes, a light springcoat, and maybe a scarf. When you‟re notin the hotel, take time to indulge in one of the following walks!

The Lachine Canal- The Scenic RouteThe Lachine canal boasts a beautiful scenicroute from the Atwater Market to OldMontreal. Take the time to stop and enjoythe sound of the water or stop off and eat atone of the many restaurants and cafes alongthe canal. Begin your walk at the AtwaterMarket and check out the different localproduce they have to offer. End your walkin Old Montreal with a meal on a terrace at

one of the many restaurants, or continue andtake a scenic walk right to the Old Port of Montreal.

Mount Royal- The Peak of the CityHave you ever wanted to conquer a Moun-

tain from bottom to top? Mount Royal isdefinitely a great start for an adventurous dayfilled with exercise, beauty and self-satisfaction. You can get to the mountainfrom various areas of the city, our suggestionis Avenue Des Pins, where you can walk upusing the stairs or choose a more adventurousrocky route to the top. Those who wouldrather bike up the mountain can rent a Bixibike and ride up and around the mountain. The summit of Mount Royal has a lookout

area where you can see the city from the top.In the middle of Mont Royal, where the landstarts to plateau lies Beaver Lake, the areaaround Beaver Lake is a great place to sit andenjoy the outdoor scenery, many peoplebring picnic baskets and blankets and enjoy alunch or snack.

game months in advance, you can buy ticketsonline. One last minute alternative is to buytickets off a scalper, but they are expensive. The best way would be to use your Montrealconnections. Even if you don‟t get tickets it isstill possible to experience the madnessaround hockey in one of Montreal‟s sportsbars. Our front desk will be happy to directyou to the different options, or you can playsafe and go to La Cage aux Sports. They havea few locations in the downtown area. Mon-treal hockey game nights are sure to be anevent you will never forget.

The Bell Center is also the most importantvenue in Montreal that not only hold hockeygames but also other high-profile events. It isworth looking at their calendar in advance tosee what will be happening during the fewdays you spend in Montreal. Sports eventsare often a way to ease the mood indulging inthe entertaining aspect of sports, but stillprofiting from the business opportunity.

By Elisabeth Ste-Marie - Business can bestressful at times, but Montreal has manyways to render your short business trip intoone that will be profitable in as many waysas possible. One way is to indulge in thesports scene that Montreal has to offer. Fanor not, it‟s worth being part of the turmoilthat surrounds a hockey game. Who knowsyou might become a fan (if you‟re notalready!). The Montreal Canadiens are dearto their fans, you will gain points with yourfellow Montreal businessmen if you men-tion the local hockey team in conversation.

Even more exciting than the regular seasonis the playoffs during which the city takeson a totally different vibe. The importanceof the playoffs makes fans and non-fansrejoice in a high-spirited atmosphere. Thestreets are painted with the Montreal Cana-diens colors. The ultimate way to enjoy theambience is to attend a game at the BellCenter, but the chances of f inding last mi-nute tickets are slim. If you plan to go to a
