Join the Ellesmere Port Music Society choir, director Lloyd Buck, soloists and orchestra as they explore two less favoured albeit brilliant works by Anton Bruckner and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Lose yourself in the profound spirtuality of the former's Mass in D Minor and then in the sparkling incidental music from the latter's Thamos, King of Egypt.

Chester Wind Band will be making a welcome return to Ellesmere Port Civic Hall with another wide ranging and exciting programme of music to suit all tastes.

The wicked Carabosse casts a spell on Princess Aurora proclaiming that she will one day prick her finger and die. The Lilac Fairy changes the spell, and instead on the fateful day, the Princess and the entire Palace fall into a deep sleep. A Man for All Seasons13 - 16 May

This tragic historical drama offers a brilliant portrait of Sir Thomas More in his last years as Lord Chancellor of England during the reign of Henry VIII. When Henry fails to obtain papal approval for a divorce from Catherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn, he mandates his subjects to sign an “Act of Supremacy” making him both spiritual and temporal leader of England. Sir Thomas cannot in good conscience comply. Cromwell, Cardinal Wolsey, his family, and the King himself are all unable to convince More otherwise, as he maintains his integrity and belief in silence. Ultimately accused of high treason, this very silence leads the man to his execution, and later his canonisation in 1935.
