From the Patchwork - Blue/White (H), cut:• (2) 4 ½” x 22 ½” WOF strips.• (3) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 54 ½” strips.

From the Denim Texture - Red (L), cut:• (5) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

From the Patchwork - Red/White (Backing), cut:• (1) 62” x 38” strip for the back.

Runner Sewing Instructions1. Place (1) 2 ½” Fabric E square on the top right corner of (1) 4 ½” Fabric A square, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam.

2. Follow Figure 3 for the seam direction to add a 2 ½” Fabric E square to the lower left corner of the 4 ½” Fabric A square to make (1) A block (Fig. 4).

3. Repeat Steps 1-2 to make (4) A blocks total.

4. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (4) 4 ½” Fabric B squares and (8) 2 ½” Fabric E squares to make (4) B blocks (Fig. 5).

Runner Top Assembly (Refer to the Figure 10 while assembling.)13. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 34 ½” Fabric F strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

14. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 44 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

15. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 20 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric F strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

16. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 22 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the runner top.

17. Repeat Steps 8-11 and press the remaining stars onto the runner top as shown in Figure 11.

18. Layer and quilt as desired.

19. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric L strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

20. Bind as desired.

5. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (4) 4 ½” Fabric C squares and (8) 2 ½ Fabric E squares to make (4) C blocks (Fig. 6).

6. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (4) 4 ½” Fabric D squares and (8) 2 ½” Fabric E squares to make (4) D blocks (Fig. 7).

7. Sew (1) A Block, (1) B block, (1) C block and (1) D block together to make (1) pieced Block (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (4) pieced Blocks total.

10. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press (1) Fabric E small star into the center of each pieced Block (Fig. 9). E

11. Finish the raw edges of each star with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to complete the (4) Star Blocks.

12. Sew the (4) Star Blocks together to make the Center Block.

8. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛” outside the drawn lines.

9. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

Place Mat Sewing Instructions21. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 7” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 11” x 7” Fabric A block. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 13 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A block. Trim the block to measure 12 ½” x 8 ½” to make one A block (Fig. 12). Repeat to make (6) A blocks total.

22. Place (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric B square on top of (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric C square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 13). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 13). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 14) to make (2) CB units (Fig. 15). Trim the CB units to measure 2 ½” square. Repeat to make (42) CB units total.

32. Sew the (12) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric I strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make one strip. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Sub-cut the strips into (6) equal lengths.
