Safe  t  y Concerns When children are playing outdoors there are sev- eral things that you must keep in mind. You must ensure that you have plenty of water in order to prevent dehydration. There must be a place for children to sit and an area with shade for children to rest and avoid overheat- ing. Children and staff must wear hats and sun- screen in order to protect  yourself from UV rays and avoid getting sunburns. Finally, you may want to have a first aid kit on hand just in case someone is injured they can get treated immediately. Exercises the upper body and doesn’t require

 you to separate the children based on their

various strength and skill levels

physical activity per-day

-88% children are not getting the amount

of exercise that is needed to meet physical

activity guidelines.

-Canadian youth are getting approximately

7 hours of screen time on weekends

-23% of preschoolers aged 4 to 5 are ex-

posed to more than 2 hours of screen time

per day

-if given the opportunity most children

would prefer to be physically active after

school

their children in after school programs
