There are two white tents in the park which serve as a meeting place for many organized activities in the Park: “South Kouchibouguac white tent” refers to the one situated in the South Kouchibouguac campground, 3rd loop. Let’s Go Biking! Come on over to ride your bike just for the fun of it on the first Saturday of each month starting in June! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bicycles can be rented at Ryans. Eve-ryone welcome!

May 16 - Treasure Hunt Starting at 9:30 a.m. you can pick up your treasure map at the visitor reception center or at the South Kouchibouguac kiosk. The first clue will be posted at 9:30 a.m. The hunt will end by 3 p.m. Prizes to be won!

May 22 to 24 - Star Fest This year again we welcome volunteers from the Royal Astronomi-cal Society of Canada in the Park! Imagine: you could plug your smart phone or your DSLR camera to the telescope to take a pic-ture of the sun, Jupiter, Venus or Saturn! Most activities are weather dependant so don’t hesitate to inquire before heading out the door. May 22 - Presentation at the outdoor theatre, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then meet at site 194 for sky observations with telescopes until around 11 p.m. May 23- From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. drop in at sight 194 for solar observations, a telescope clinic (bring yours if you don’t know how to use it and let the experts show you how!) and interactive activities. At 8 p.m., presentation at the outdoor theatre and after that, meet at site 194 for sky observations until around 11 p.m.

July 1 - Canada Day 200 candles for Sir John A. MacDonald! What do you know about our very first Prime Minister? Challenge your knowledge at Kellys Beach white tent. Cake and fun games from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

July 11 - Family Fun. Games, bingo and treasure hunt at South Kouchibouguac white tent. From 10 a.m. to noon.

July 18 - Parks Day Come on over and meet artists and artisans from the area at Kellys Beach white tent. Great gift ideas! (cash only) From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

July 3 - Marche à la dune au clair de lune French version of the Dune Moonlight Walk offered July 4. Meet at 10 p.m. at Kellys Beach white tent.

June 6- Trail Building School with IMBA Canada This is a unique opportunity to learn from the Trail Care Crew from the International Mountain Bicycling Association and get involved in trail building in the Park. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Please contact the Park to register. This workshop is offered in English.

July 24 - Christmas Eve At South Kouchibouguac white tent, traditional Acadian meals for sale starting at 5 p.m. Stories and hot chocolate from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bring your chairs!

July 25 - Christmas in July Site decoration contest at South Kou-chibouguac campground. Campers are invited to decorate their site! Fun prizes for most original and best deco-rated. Judges will circulate between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Note: Since the Park is a Dark Sky Preserve, no points will be awarded for lighting (Christmas lights or other)

July 25- Live Music with Pierre & Maurice From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the outdoor theatre. Wear your Christmas hats!

August 15 - Happy Acadian Day! Come on over, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and craft a noise-maker for the Tintamarre at the South Kouchibouguac white tent! At 10:30 a.m., take part in the Tin-tamarre. A Tintamarre is an Acadian tra-dition of walking through one’s communi-ty, making noise with improvised instru-ments and other noisemakers.

August 22 - Family Fun. Games, bingo and treasure hunt at South Kouchibouguac white tent. From 10 a.m. to noon.

August 29 - 10k Under 10 million Stars Walk or run the 10k loop starting at Pijeboogwek. Departure is at 8 p.m. For your con-venience, bring a water bottle and a flashlight and maybe a glow stick or two! This might be the first of an annual event so don’t miss out!

August 8 - Science Day at Callanders Beach Join the Resource Conservation team for a full day or a morning/afternoon of an authentic scientific experience. To reserve, call or drop by the Visitor Reception Centre.

August 3 - Happy New Brunswick Day! First Nations artists and artisans from New Brunswick will spend the day with us demonstrating their art. Great gift ideas! (cash only) At Kellys Beach white tent from noon until 5 p.m.

September 4 - Shorebirds Survey Shorebirds are found all along the coast at this time of the year. Along with an Environ-ment Canada biologist, participate in an in-ventory in the Park. Meet at Kellys Beach white tent at 9:45 a.m. Activity will end at around noon.

September 5 - Geocaching Event Parks Canada and CacheUp NB invite you to experience geocaching in the Park. Meet at La Source, from noon until 5 p.m. First 400 participants to complete their Cacheport will receive a geocoin!

September 12 - Sand Sculpture Contest At Kellys Beach. Judges will circulate be-tween 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Participation prizes and for the most original. Bring your accessories and be creative!

September 4 - G’bye Summer With Park Staff & Friends From 8 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the outdoor theatre. Songs, music and sketches to entertain you... we’re sure to make you smile! Animation in English and in French.

October 3- Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at La Source. Chal-lenges, games and door prizes for kids - lot’s of fun and play! Bike helmets are mandatory.

September 26 - Paddle the Kouchibouguac River From the dam in Kouchibouguac to Ryans Landing. Bring your own boat (canoe or kayak), water and a picnic! De-parture expected at 9 a.m. Participants are responsible for the transportation of their craft back to the dam.

September 19- Pedal Kouchibouguac’s Great North! Starting at the “footpath” on route 117 on the north side of the Kouchibouguac river. Departure expected at 10 a.m. Bring water and a picnic!

September October

October 9 - Pumpkin and site decoration contest Limited quantity of pumpkins offered to campers starting at 6 p.m. Judges will circulate on October 11!

October 10- At South Kouchibouguac White Tent Washer Toss Tournament, junior (12 and under) Register between 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. 20 teams maximum. Kouchibouguac Challenge. Friends and families, come challenge yourselves and others in fun and friendly games! Lots of fun! From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Washer Toss Tournament, senior (13 and up) Register between 1:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. 20 teams maximum. Observation Rally. Register be-tween 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Bring a flashlight and a pencil! From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

October 11- Luc Gallant Marathon

October 11 - Decoration Contest Campsites and pumpkins, here we come! Judges will circulate be-tween 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Winners will be announced during the live music event in the evening.

October 11 - Live Music with Pierre & Maurice At the outdoor theatre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is the last activity of the season!
