Be Mindful…with our programmes in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Mindfulness offers, quite simply, a way of changing your life. By altering the way you think and perceive the world, it makes you less stressed, better able to cope, more positive, more aware – in short, more able to appreciate yourself and your life. Now offered in schools, in management training programmes, in health care and corporate settings, it is the centrepiece of the Mental Health Foundation’s campaign to ‘Be Mindful’. http://www.bemindful.co.uk/
Originally developed at one of the leading university hospitals in the US over 30 years ago to help manage chronic pain, MBSR’s reputation for helping people to deal with a wide range of problems is now worldwide. Research over three decades has shown that people who complete the course report: • Being better able to relax • Being less distressed by physical and psychological symptoms • Reduced pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with chronic
pain• Reduced anxiety and depression• Improved concentration and memory• Better sleep• Greater energy and enthusiasm for life • Improved self-esteem
Research also suggests that mindfulness strengthens the immune system and develops areas of the brain associated with wellbeing.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) If you are feeling disconnected from your life – if you want to spend less time being hijacked by the stresses and strains of work, home, family, or health – if you want to learn to live more fully in the present moment – and you are willing to commit yourself to spending an hour a day working on this – then this well-established and tried-and-tested class can give you the tools to change your life. We can all benefit from MBSR training: we all long to be centred and at ease with our lives. Kundalini YogaKundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) is an ancient technology and science that activates health, potential and capacity. It works with powerful and relaxing breathing, visualisation, dynamic asanas (postures) mantras (chants) along with mudras (hand gestures). It is taught in kriyas (a series of postures) that are designed to bring about a transformation and balance through working a particular system of the body (ie the nervous, endocrine, lymphatic and immune system). It is often called ‘a yoga of awareness’ as it expands consciousness and emphasises the flow of movement within any given kriya.Yoga means union. Kundalini classes aim to stretch and challenge the mind, body and spirit enabling inner strength, balance and relaxation.
