WHY HONEXT®WHY HONEXT®

Doing less harm is no longer enough

Our dependence on traditional building materials is destroying the planet. We owe our home a real action plan. It’s time to claim back our waste and put it to use. It’s time to readdress the way we build our future.

Page 4: Let’s build a better tomorrow today, together

OUR VISION OUR VISION

We envision a future with zero landfills. We must rethink waste and acknowledge its potential. We propose a shift in perspective: embracing end-of-life products not as waste, but as an untapped resource. We see a world where our cities are built entirely from reclaimed materials.

Waste as an untapped resource

OUR VISION

Moving away from linear production

HONEXT® considers the entire product life cycle. Everything is sourced, processed, and sold locally through our unique circular process. Once our material reaches the end of its life after many years of use, the cycle starts again. We feed the material back into the process and generate a new set of HONEXT® panels.

OUR VISION

OUR VISION OUR VISION

Collaborating is how we create value. Through partnerships with paper mills and waste management facilities, we aim to create a globally distributed production network that transforms waste where it is generated. Our first factory was designed to have zero environmental impact: gas and electricity come from waste digestion, water is permanently reused in a closed loop.

A globally distributed network

PROCESS PROCESS

We mix in waste fibres, water and bio-based additives with pressure and heat to produce a new material.

Page 8: Let’s build a better tomorrow today, together

PROCESS PROCESS

We analyze, sort, and classify the waste based on its composition to achieve a standard product. 50−75 % paper sludge and 25−50% cardboard waste

Raw material standardisation

We analyse, sort and classify waste based on its composition to achieve a standard product. Depending on its quality, we use 50−75% paper sludge and 25−50% cardboard waste.

Thanks to our research, our industrial bio-based process allows us to generate stronger bindings between cellulose fibres with no need for resins.

Bio-based, zero-waste and resin-free

PROCESS PROCESS

Mechanicaltransformation

We mix in safe, non-toxic additives with the upcycled cellulose fibres. We then compress and shape the material into a wet panel.

We feed the wet panel through a drying tunnel. The remaining water is evaporated through high airflow and temperature.

THE MATERIAL THE MATERIAL

A natural and always recyclable material with outstanding properties

Non-toxic, long-lasting and sustainable. For endless (and conscious) possibilities. The 2440×1220×12mm HONEXT® panels have a wide range of construction applications. What to do with them is entirely in your hands.

It does not emit formaldehyde nor other volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

It has greater sound absorption properties than drywall and MDF.

It is a material resistant to moisture and water vapor.

Current reaction to fire is class C-s1,d0. We will reach Class B-s1,d0 by Q2 2021.

It provides better thermal insulation than other materials with similar applications.

Greater resistance to bending and lighter than the materials used for partitioning.

100% Recyclable. Cradle to Cradle Silver Certified and Material Health Silver Certified.

We are constantly improving Honext’s properties. Visit our website to download the latest version of our data sheet.

Note: Properties tested by Applus in Q1 2021. CE Marking and ETA expected by Q3 2021

Building healthy environments

HONEXT® is the sustainable and healthy alternative to traditional building materials. As partitioning material, it allows for the application of any common coating or finish. Or (as we recommend) it can be used raw as surface material, applying varnish and paint in line with sustainability standards.
