If I have a 5 dollar bill, a 10 dollar bill, 3 quarters, and 1 dime how much money do I have?

First I would add the bill amounts which are 5 and 10 and I would get 15.Next I would add the quarters and since there are 3 worth 25 cents each I would add .25+.25+.25 and I would get 75 cents. Finally add the dime, which is worth 10 cents, to the 75 cents that you got from adding the 3 quarters.

If I have $35.78 and I owe a cashier in a store $17.99 for my purchases how much money will I have left over?

First line up the amounts with the amount you have on top of the amount you owe the cashier $35.78-$17.99

In order to subtract the 9 from the 8 you have to borrow 1 from the 7 and give it to the 8 and you will have 18-9= 9Next you will need to subtract the 9 from the 7 but remember you borrowed 1 from the 7 so it is now a 6. So in order to subtract 6 from 9 you need to borrow 1 from the 5 and it will be 16-9= 7Next you will need to subtract the 7 from the 5 but remember you borrowed 1 from the 5 so it is now a 4. So in order to subtract it you will need to borrow 1 from the 3 and it will be 14-7=7Finally you subtract 1 from 3 but remember you borrowed 1 from 3 so it will be 2-1=1
