TRANSCRIPT
The phenomenon and evolution of Security Token Offerings (STOs) sprung up from the success of Indiegogo, Kickstarter and then Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) — an un-regulated form of crowdfunding mirrored after Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).
Individuals and teams raised significant funds with just great ideas, vision and pur-pose, and it was easy to get started… easy to get in the race.
By 2017 we saw massive amounts of capital was raised: USD 4.2 billion by EOS (Block.one) as an example. In 2017 a total of USD 4-5 billion was raised through ICOs … USD 12 billion was raised in 2018 and USD 7 billion in 2019.
Crowdfunding
Let’s face it, retail and even professional investors didn’t always perform thorough due diligence, KYC and AML checks.
ICOs became a haven for fraud.
The Wall Street Journal reported that upwards of 20% of ICOs were fraudulent in 2017 in a research study conducted.
Fraud, Money Laundering Dark Pools Formed
Out of the starting blocks, we immediately partnered with academic institutions, universities, standards organizations, and worked with regulatory authorities to help standardize best practices and technology protocols to drive the vision of regulatory compliance adoption.
We work with governments, and the British Standards Institute (BSI) to bring uniformity to blockchain and safeguard investors and firms alike.
And, we partnered with industry leaders like Polymath, and Tokeny to drive innovation adoption globally.
QRC Was Launched to Make it a Fair Race. And, Tackle Cheating Head On
v
QRC teamed up with Blockpass to drive innovation in KYC/AML and Digital Identities to minimize cheaters and fraudsters.
Anti-financial crimes software with Artificial Intelligence can monitor and detect money laundering and illicit activities.
We provide investors with the confidence they are investing into trustworthy teams.
We give CEOs confidence their investors’ money doesn’t come from dark pools, drug dealers or criminal organizations.
We ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations to prevent terrorist financing. And, one of our team members even worked with the FBI and SEC in the USA to combat wire fraud, and securities fraud in 2019.
And Now, Everyone Has A Fair Chance at Winning and Crossing the Finish Line
QRC’s winning suite of Regtech products, solutions and advisory services
INSTITUTE PORTFOLIO ADVISORY
QRC’s business runs in 3 lanes: institute, portfolio and advisory.
We work with National Taiwan University to build a regtech lab at the in cooperation with our sister firm IBL. We invested in the University of Malaya to fund regtech research, led by their faculty members, that utilizes blockchain technology for the transfer of land property rights to improve efficiency and lower costs over current processes. And, QRC has given courses at the Waseda University in Japan on blockchain regulations in Japan.
Not surprisingly, we plan on extending our academic collaboration 2 leading universities in the US and this gives our clients a leg up.
INSTITUTE PORTFOLIO ADVISORY
But that’s not all. Unlike many blockchain VCs, we reserve our investments to projects that emphasize RegTech. Our team is laser-focused on technology, law, and business. Our distribution channels ensure real-world integrations for your product, when it is ready.
INSTITUTE PORTFOLIO ADVISORY
Most importantly, our world-class team of advisors and extended team provide process knowledge and domain expertise in blockchain application development, legal, financial, marketing, tokenization, and distribution of your security token offering (STO) or IEO. We leverage our research and insights with academic institutions for our clients’ benefit, and we pull in experts when needed, from our specialized network, including Sidley Austin (Hong Kong), Diginex, L&Y Law Office, Looks Securities, Michael Terpin / Transform Group, Deer Isle Capital, Rockefeller Capital Management, Infinity Blockchain Ventures, Blueprint Marketing, and Diacle among others.
We’ve developed our own QRC 10-Step STO and 9-Step IEO processes to help you visualize your way to the finish line.
As the STO industry grows further in 2020, it needs to provide a rationale beyond greater liquidity. STOs need to be designed by properly qualified licensed professionals (dealer-brokers) that is both financially attractive and adds features or enhanced execution exceeding what traditional capital markets offer. To achieve these goals, issuers must take advantage of a full suite of DLT technologies.
Hiring QRC is like having your own marathon coach and advance support team to ensure your performance, finish and win.
