Welcome 5 th Graders, Hi! My name is Ms. Vermiglio (Ver-mill-ee-o) and I am very excited to be back at Northwood Elementary with the fabulous 5 th grade team! This will be my fourth year teaching at Northwood and my sixth year teaching. I absolutely adore teaching children of all ages and have had the wonderful opportunity to teach kindergarten, fourth, and fifth grade students. I am thrilled about the upcoming school year and can’t wait to meet all of you! I am also excited about all of the wonderful learning experiences we will be able to share throughout the school year! I spent most of my childhood in Wisconsin and graduated from Lakeland College with a Bachelor’s in Early-Middle Childhood Education. This summer, I also received my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I love the Midwest and often go back to visit my extremely large Italian family! I don’t have any pets or children but spend many evenings video chatting with my three adorable nieces. If I’m not chatting with my family I’m usually cooking or reading! Teaching is definitely a passion of mine and I understand how important the fifth grade year is which is why I am confident this year is going to be wonderful! I am excited to work with you and your families and help make your transition into sixth grade a fantastic one! I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your summer! Ms. V.
