This  year  has  been quite  a  busy  onefor  us  at  the  Africapitalism  Instituteas  we  have  continued  pushing  forincreased  long­term  investment  byAfricans in Africa.

This  newsletter  follows  in  that  trendwith  a  story  detailing  why  a  heavyinvestment  drive  is  needed  to  spur

transformation on  the  continent.  Transformation  can  come  in  different ways.For  instance,  the  African  Union  Commission  recently  organized  a  high­levelconference on data revolution, a forum that we were glad to be part of. Also inthis issue, we present the facts on the Africapitalism Index and how trade canbecome a springboard for economic growth in Africa.
