Dear BIFS Community,
The Annual General Meeting of BIFS parent members was held this past Saturday. The meeting was well
attended by a large number of parents, and we had the highest number of votes for Board of Governor
candidates that we have ever had in the history of the school.
As the new Chairman of the BIFS Board of Governors, I am humbled by the responsibility that I have been
elected to bear.
I am pleased to announce that the candidate who received the highest number of votes for the available
parent member seat on the Board of Governors was Ms. Jeanette Gellard. The Board of Governors welcomes
Ms. Gellard to the Board and we look forward to working with her as a valued and important member with a
wealth of experience.
We appreciate the interest of the other candidates and their willingness to serve on the Board. The Board
will continue to work with them and benefit from their unique skills and expertise.
The Board of Governors would also like to take this opportunity to thank the former Chairman, Mr. Jim
Korenkiewicz, for his many years of dedicated service as both a regular Board member and as Chairman. His
insights, contributions, and guidance led the school through a period of unprecedented growth and
development. He will be sorely missed.
I extend my sincerest thanks to you, the BIFS community, for the trust and confidence you have placed, not
only in me, but also in the other members of the Board of Governors. On behalf of the board, I assure you
that we will continue to focus our efforts on improving and developing BIFS in order to maintain its place as
one of the top international schools in the region.
