Letter of application

I have joined HP in August 2014, selected on Iberia & Benelux Team due to my previous experience in accounting, leading the accounts receivable department, being in charge with Portuguese customers, and my economics background (college and master degree).

I was in charge with HP Portugal portfolio having $4Mil AR (monthly average);

I brought a visible improvement on results MoM, QoQ of 31%, respective 34%, also, reducing the aging and the time frame on identifying the disputes, showing visibility on challenging accounts, escalating on time, organizing calls with the business, building a strong relationship with all involved in the process (sales, order management, credit, country controller, resolver, VAT controller), including my colleagues;

I was tutor for the new colleague who has replaced me when I decided to follow a new path on my career by applying to Graphic Solutions Business Team.

Due to my enthusiasm and good results, I have embraced a different and complex portfolio in August 2015 within Graphic Solutions Business Team (HP Indigo and HP Scitex), being in charge of Channel accounts EMEA & APJ, and operating in both standard and non-standard environment, all of this, making it a very challenging, complex portfolio of $40Mil AR (monthly average), and around 50% of the total team AR.

Working daily with big non-integrated data, I took the lead to become responsible for reporting at team level, structuring AR data in a way to help the entire team prepare forecast and analyze trends.

I am also preparing and reporting the results in a monthly basis, commenting each account and the impact I had during a fiscal period at global level;

Given the large degree of independency in applying collection strategies for GSB, my daily work covers also Credit responsibilities, as I am calculating the credit availability for the new deals (around $10Mil monthly) and

forecasting collectable receivables based on analyzing customer payment trend.

Organizing monthly calls with business in order to discuss critical accounts, slow payers, partners who use to order more than afford to pay (monthly overdue), customer’s broken promises; presenting the impact on HP’s cash flow, the importance of revenue being recognized in cash and not only in accounting;

I won FY15 contest having the highest rate of reducing aged AR month over month, positively impacting FY closure & few others diplomas at quarter end at individual level and also at team level;

I have been promoted to Specialist level during April16 due to my good results and contribution MoM & QoQ.

I have been invited by Sales department to participate to Drupa event in Dusseldorf 2016 in order to meet face to face our worldwide partners, being a very nice experience.

My experience up to today constantly involves applying leadership and influencing skills to a high extend, as I am exposed to high level interactions with senior management up to VP level. In this context I am faced with fast decision-making situations, in order to balance revenue treatment versus cash flow acceleration, in challenging times for HP after separation.Recently I identified an improvement opportunity and have been involved in a project to standardize cutoff (closure) date on APJ Indigo, working with multiple parties (controllership, finance, legal, IT and PMO team) to achieve this goals.My contribution was to identify the business need for aligning cutoff with EMEA region, in order to allocate resources as time and energy in a balanced way throughout the month and quarter, then discuss it and presenting the benefits it would bring to the C&C organization, and the idea has passed all filters and already has been implemented.Also, as people development is within my career focuses, best practices sharing (sharing acknowledgment with my co-workers about how to calculate individually results, comparing in a monthly and quarterly basis, how to react in different situation, under pressure and so on, having a strong background in collection, making part in a newly formed team).
